if Levy is serious about getting Beckham on loan, then he seriously needs to pay the going-rate for a superstar.... that doesnt mean that Beckham is greedy (he could stay at Galaxy and pick up the same wedge for doing nothing) but that he will not be taken for a ride.... its that simple..

this is a minor matter and Levy will have timed the negotiation to conclude on Sunday... why concede every point too early ??

as for you new 'Gallas-lovers' I'm sure you were all very gushing in your eager anticipation of a near world-clas CB with huge intl experience joining the club ALL THE TIME before he finally arrived and started playing well.... I'm sure he is very grateful for all your support in all those weeks before the Ars*nal game  :2funny:

keep on thinking  simple thoughts, my dears...

Superstar??? Becks plays for LA Galaxy who are nicley topping up his retirement fund, not exactly world beaters are they with a host international players that are top of their game!!

Whole thing is a joke, if its about how he trains and setting an example to our younger players then WTF is going on coaching wise at our club and the senior players approach and attitude???? to anser that based on how we have progressed the last few seasons its not too bad!

Waste of money IMO!!!!

No Becks at WHL
THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

it aint even about how he trains... tho thats a by-product of the attribute Arry covets the most...

its about acquiring a mindset that creates positive outcomes in the medium-long term, thru personal-growth and enlightened action, perception and ability to subjugate stress .... also known as a 'winning mentality'.. in a word, its about...

Zen.  8)

Superstar no the word your looking for is celebrity...... and if we are going to pay that kind of money then we might as well try to sign Messi, Ronaldo, etc etc etc they are superstars not David Beckham.

Waste of money, waste of time who's next Barry Manilow he's a big celebrity in America !!!

I want my club to grow and progress and David Beckham is a HUGE backward step !!!!

Gallas was not a option that I wanted at the club but I did say that I would back him in a Spurs shirt as I back all players that pull on the Lilywhite shirt, and I will eat my words and say that Gallas has been very good, much respect to him.

I seriously am rethinking my unswerving support for any Spurs player regarding Beckham tho'

the beauty of this and other forums is that kindred folk can engage and share thoughts and discourse over different views or contrasting opinions. I will always think beckham is a waste of time, if, before or after he signs so fighting a losing battle doesnt come into it. Especially if my opponent is such as yourself keown.

on a side note gareth your constant referrals to sheep have left me wondering......................

are you of welsh descent? ??? ??? ?

I find myself torn on this. I can see both sides of the argument. Of course Beckham is past his best, but it cant be denied that he is a superstar his fame will last well beyond his football carreer. Just be thankful he cant sing ( although that never stopped his Mrs ) There will of course be a media circus when he comes and the attention may well cause resentment in the squad who have being doing quite nicely without him. But on the other hand he will raise the clubs profile and even if his dedication rubs of on just a couple of our players that will have a benefit to the club. I doubt he will offer much we dont already have on the pitch, the only things he has to offer are his enthusiasm, work rate and delivery but that might just be enough to swing a couple of games our way. I still say give him a chance lets see what happens. Harry will know quickly enough if he is a liability.

now there's a term i havent heard before taimedowne, "raise the club's profile" ???
tie me up quick more like (No disrespect) I thought club's raised their profile by on the pitch performances like the beating of inter milan and topping our CL group? Eh?

Players like bale and vdv and modric and others are already doing just that while also, wait for it its a killer, playing quality football in the first team, time in, time out for the forseeable future until circumstances deem otherwise. Now why do we need a one trick pony coming to our stables is beyond me for 2 months at best.

While we are at it why dont we have a prediction league as to how many minutes el beckham plays in a spurs shirt providing he gets a satisfactory wage to make it worth his while to do it in the first instance.

I say 270 max.

Riffsy get to it.

as his mere presence on the training-ground, the canteen, the players' lounge, the corridors, the changing-rooms etc will be enough for the others to take on board what Becks has to offer ... even a lack of performance during games (which won't happen) will not be enough to nullify what he will bring: thru developing the players mentally to a higher level..

I fully appreciate that most on here will not be able to understand this..

are you listening to yourself mate ffs?? "his mere presence"????? Who the fu€k are we talking about the messiah??? >.......... will be enough to what?? then why doesnt he just do a world tour of footballing club facilities just breezing through the canteens, tossing his hair at dressing room attendants and squeeking on about the weather in la to club groundsmen if thats all it takes, at a cost to said clubs of course. Gareth i suggest you put the above business proposal regarding a travelling football club rehabilitation company to the beckham plc mate you could be onto something there. Quick before Daniel levy and his razor sharp business acumen gets there before you son. Theres a good lad. ffs What an idiot.???? :o :o :o ::) ::) ::)

So what your saying is that as well as coming to and I use the term very loosely in Beckhams case 'play football', he's also gonna Cook, Clean, tend bar and clean the kit to make up his huge wage demands.

Hell what the hell lets see if Ryan Giggs is available too maybe he can play on the left while Beckhams on the right, I'm sure he'd have s**t loads to offer too, oh and Roy Keane's available at the moment....... anyone got a handle on Peter Schmiecel.

This argument is just s**te motivational my bollocks, from my own point of view if I was a player at Spurs I'd be asking why Grandad was coming and given the chance show him up at every chance.

Please don't use the term Superstar for Beckham I'm afraid he's never ever been a Superstar a Celebrity yes Superstar No !!!!!
