Looks like it's a no.  I like Harry and his relationship with the media.  But I wish we could announce signings rather than speculate that we are interested and then it fizzle out.  Though truth be told I live on transfer speculation so perhaps i'm lying to myself.

We are that close to signing Beckham. It is a must now - he will be a great asset to the club.

Levy & Arry are playing good-cop-bad-cop..... with Arry periodically signalling our willingness to walk away from a deal...

thats exactly what they should be doing.... its a negotiation..

only a few minor-points remain to be resolved..

FACT.

Think he can maybe add a lot to training sessions - e.g. helping Lennon out a bit with his distribution. Quite pleased he isn't going to play though - someone that slow wouldn't fit in too easily in our midfield.

I agree.... those blistering speed-merchants Thuddlestone and Modric would never stand for it...

Modric is no Lennon when it comes to pace, but 90% of our counter-attacks come from him - he is quick footed and much, much faster than Beckham. And anyway, they play in different positions. We don't want a slow right winger - that's one of the many reasons Bentley doesn't get a look in. Slow wingers with an inability to beat full backs won't fit in with the way Spurs play.

Having him on loan, even for a short period would have been helpful to the squad.  So, having him in training will hopefully help as well.  LA Galaxy are a 2nd class organization.  MLS has A LOT of work to do before they get any kind of respect.

as a RM, you can either use pace to beat the fullback and then cross the ball when youre clear of him.... or.... you could have such control of the ball that you only need to make half a yard and then whip it into the box...

but what makes you think Becks would ONLY play as a RM ??..... personaly, I'd also play him at CM...

not long to go now...

Sham he will only be training, but hopefully he can work wonders with Lennon.

I can just see it now there is Becks out there on our training pitch having walked out, holding Lennons hand and saying "today I will teach you skills you wouldnt believe were possible, for the purpose of this you will call me Mr Footballing Messiah as my main role whilst here is to teach you to cross a ball and hit a target"

Lennon replies "yeah whatever mate long as ya dont get injuried doing up ya laces, werent ya made famous by one of the spice girls??"

Beckham "Aaron my young apprentice noone else could possibly teach you this great skill, no paid coach in the world but here I am here now after walking on water to show you how to follow in my great footsteps where brand Beckham has achieved so much"

THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

its only the silly ppl who keep going on about Beckham 'teaching' Lennon how to cross a ball.... the knowledge of what to do is not that hard to take in... its the execution that separates Beckham from most... and you have to develop that yourself (abit like walking)...

the main thing is that Becks is here at Spurs in some capacity (not necessarily to play), so he can do his REAL work here..... helping us win the Olympic Stadium bid.... the rest is secondary...

I think this deal will happen, to much momentium not for it too.

Harry obviously wants it , he seems to think Becks can still do a Job.
Levy wants him for commercial reasons.

All a bit over hyped i think , but i guess that is to be expected with Beckham.
