Good article and most likely correct. However it looks like Beckham is coming so we'd better get used to it. It will raise our profile worldwide if nothing else, and might even tempt a striker in who can actually do something with all these pinpoint crosses Harry thinks will be flying in. To me it seems odd that the one player who could truly benefit from a few weeks with Beckham ( Bentley ) is the one who is going to be loaned out or possibly even sold to make way for him.

getting Beckham in has little to do with pinpoint crosees.... we could/do already have that with Bale (and with dribbling ability with pace too)...

learn to read between the lines..... and also learn to look beyond what happens when someone's foot makes a connection with the ball...

if beckham is so "influential" at bringing players "on" then why hasnt he shown any interest in coaching roles before? This type of spiel  is annoying the hell out of me! What evidence has anyone of this? Did he bring on his england team mates in the world cups he played in? Did he f**k? He is not the messiah. Mass produced media rubbish of the likes of a positive influence, bringing on players, pin-point crosses, calming influence, slowing down play, ten minute cameos, impact sub are total sewage.
Heres a few more realistic ones for you, unwanted media attention, distracting off the field hype, over-rated player, no considerable contribution in footballing terms in years, unlikely to make the first 11, necessary outlay on wages and insurance fees, sickening crowd presence of sir dayvid and ugly wife at matches not to mention celebrity hang ons.

coaching role ??.... is he 40yrs old with a beer-gut and a sudden penchant for driving flashy red sports-cars ??

the guy is as fit as a butcher's dog still and clearly loves playing at a high level, as well as being an ambassador and promotor of Football in the USA the last few yrs.... why the feck should he be coaching now, when he could easily do that when he hangs up his size9s in a few yrs...

he'll probably buy his own top club when he fancies coaching  :santa_evil:

contrary to all the narrow-minded drivel against him: pinpoint-crosses my arse, as if thats all he's gonna bring..... the guy is gonna play for Spurs for 2-3months.... as cover and sometimes starter for both RM AND CM......

Spot on fella anyone got Arrys and Levys fax number they could do with reading a bit of reality on this fecking joke of a transfer before we screw up big time.

Also if Beckham has so much to offer why are none of the other big clubs fighting to bring him in including struggling Liverpool???  West Ham, Blackburn would all love the attention and farce that comes with the Beckham circus its not like they have much of a season left to disrupt is it!

I only know from what my dad has told me about him. He says he was a big, hard as nails forward with no front teeth who would bully defenders. Kind of like the anti-Beckham! I'm 28, so obviously this was before my time, but my dad certainly seemed impressed by him. There was something about playing for Scotland he did my dad was telling me about, but it escapes me.

Joseph was a centre-forward who was that valued that he went for a then British record transfer-fee of 350,000 pounds when he moved from LeedsUtd to ManUtd.... soon for the record to be superceded by his old mucker Gordon McQueen the CB who made the same trip for 500,000...

as for the anti-Beckhams on here, lets see.... those intellectual heavyweights: Ugs, Bigv mainly and a couple of their groupies..... could there be a more compelling argument TO bring Beckham  ??....

Khumalo and Beckham in, so far.... I likes it Arry  :santa_afro:

PS - Blackbum and Wet Spam WERE interested in Beckham, as were Newky and other Prem clubs, as well as top European outfits.... he wants to play for his boyhood club, at a time when the quality here now matching his own... and the likes of Utd and Chavs already have experienced players who've won the Prem, thats why they aint showing an interest... and as for Liverpool, dont make me laugh (a bunch of carthorses nowadays)...
