Mido braced for Spurs exit

Mido admits he may have to leave Tottenham Hotspur in the summer in search of regular first-team football.

The Egyptian striker joined Spurs on a permanent deal last August after spending the previous 18 months on loan from Roma.

However, Mido has started just six Premiership games and his only league goal proved to be the winner against West Ham United back in October.

Dimitar Berbatov's impressive form has kept Mido on the fringes, with the forward feeling injuries have also played a part in his inability to make an impact.

"I was unfortunate with the injuries I had," Mido told Dream TV.

"Every time I play and put in a good display an injury strikes me to halt my progress with Spurs.

"The form of Berbatov has also been impressive and that's another reason for my limited appearances."

Mido was close to joining Manchester City during January's transfer window and he claims Stuart Pearce remains interested.

Celta Vigo, where the burly striker spent time on loan in 2003, are also in the hunt, along with Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven.

He added: "I will sit down with Martin Jol at the end of the season to discuss all possibilities.

"I'm not that sort of player who wants to just receive money no matter if he is playing or not, I'm keen on participating on a regular basis.

"I have two good offers from Manchester City and Celta Vigo. PSV Eindhoven coach Ronald Koeman phoned me and expressed his interest as well."

It does look likely he will leave and it's probably the best thing for both parties. Would rather him go abroad 'cause these ex players are renowned to score against their former teams. Also isnt Koeman phoning him "taping up".

Good. Been very poor this season, what we need is to get him out, and bring someone like Kevin Doyle in as backup, or a pacy non-small striker.

Mido's attitude is terrible, performances worse.

Defoe should go aswell, then bring Pekhart from the under18's onto the bench next season as an 18 year old, and bring in Doyle as 1st choice backup.

I reckon for Defoe and Mido we could get atleast

Hmm, I think he is good as a 4th striker, you wouldn't get much better, I want him and Defoe out and bring in another class striker and someone good but not amazing like Henri Camara.

Mido was much better when he was bigger used to bully defenders and get alot of headed goals, Defoe is lazy in my opinion.

Fair play to him though. He hasn't whined and I respect him for wanting to earn his money.

We've got a depth glut up front, so we do know that at least one of the two has to go. I'd prefer to keep Defoe, and let Mido go, but not for nothing of course :p If we have to transfer Defoe out, so be it. But he's gonna have a hefty price tag :D

we have to keep defoe. keane is an awful finisher. we need a predator like defoe to go with the sheer genius of berba.

I don't really see Mido as a fourth striker. Defoe and Keane don't seem to work as a partnership, so if Berbatov isn't playing Mido is second choice.

Given Berbatov's form, that means a lot of bench time, so we need someone who is able to keep fit and wait for their chance. Although Mido hasn't complained, he doesn't seem good at keeping fit to me (although this may partly be due to lack of playing) and it would seem he wants or needs regular first team football.

So maybe moving on would be good for him and Spurs.

Ashton for me.

imo we don't need mido at all, it would be good if we get rid of him and get a better quality striker, ashton could be quite a good choice but considering he has just had a long term injury im not sure if he will be as good as before he broke his ankle, and its not like he will be making regular first team appearances :)
