I have to disagree voice, it really does depend if Lennon sees his future with us and wishes to stay.

If he does he will be burning to get on the pitch and when the opportunity arises look to show AVB what he is missing, if however Lennons feels he is automatically worthy of a starting place I think he will be off as at this point I cant see him being a first choice starter for an EPL game.

I may be wrong alot depends on AVB and his plans

Look at Townsend. He went from one club to another but he knuckled down and got his chance. I think it depends on how Lennon rates himself and whether he wants to knuckle down and fight for his place. I am hoping he does.

Hang on Voice check you facts re Townsend, he started his career in 2009 and is a product of Spurs Academy.  Despite being loaned to 9 different clubs he has always been a Spurs player, being loaned out strategically by the club to allow him to gain experience, grow as a player and develop into the player we are seeing this season.

He has gone out done his job whilst on loan and developed as the club had hoped, never a hint he wanted out of THFC or that his chances may be limited he was always ear marked to replace Bale when he moved on which we all expected would be this season or next so if he delivered on his talent as expected his future with us looked bright.

Lennon on the other hand is in a much different situation, seasons of never quite becoming the player we had hoped, dire end product most of the time and a few injuries over recent seasons.  With the new additions he may not see his future with us if he wants regular assured first team footi, if that is the case very likely he will go.  If he is happy to take his chances when given and accept he wont start every EPL match and contribute to the squad the best he can he will stay and I for one would be very happy with that!

Yes, but that doesn't contradict what I said. Yes, I know he is and was a Spurs player, but he still went from one club after another; even though it was on loan.

And there was a valid reason for going out on loan as I stated above, the situation regarding Townsend and Lennons situations are completely different and therefore are no comparsion, I am not going to state my points again as its a waste of my typing hand and effort.
THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

Yes, they are completely different, but that doesn't mean he can't knuckle down and work hard on his game so that he forces his way back in.

And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets, I’ve had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

But the point I have been making and I thought made clearly as have spelt it out is that it is all down to Lennon does he want to do that, or does he want an automatic starting place, does he want to stay??.  That is what will determine whether he goes or stays, as IMO AVB would like to keep hold of him for the same reasons most of us would he adds an attacking option and causes problems for the opposition.

Have to say he impressed last night so its all positive so far!

But you did make it clear. And my answer was; depending on what type of character he is. Would he rather knuckle down and fight for his place or find a club that will guarantee him constant football? If he goes to a top 5 club he will be in the same boat as he is now; fighting for his place. Or go for something lower. Lennon is still young and I would imagine he would rather fight for his place; depending on how he rates himself.

My final word on this thread and Lennon is I want him to stay, certainly feel he has a future with us and a role to play in our progression. It all depends on 2 things, firstly, on the lad himself, if he wants the role or to move on for a easier less challenging squad to compete in and if AVB has him as part of his plans.

Going by the game he has a lot of catching up to do.

Bit like Defoe, looked good against poor euro competition but was out of sorts playing and EPL team!  Siggy should have started IMO

Can't argue with that.

IMO Siggy has a future with us. Defoe and Lennon do not. They have had many years to prove themselves as top 4 players, and quite honestly have failed. Hence why nobody of note is ever linked with them.

RSS61 dont you see Lennon as being able to contribute in our squad?  I dont see him as a first team automatic starter but certainly a handy option to have.

As you have mentioned Defoe I think his best days are behind him, we need 2 more class strikers IMO as it would seem Ade is not part of AVB's plans and lets face it with him he has been more miss than hit with us.

To be honest Metal I wish I did, because I like Lennon, and Defoe for that matter. But I would rather see Siggy and Townsend on current form. As for Lamela he is starting to look like a 30 million pound flop. I hope I'm wrong on that one, and if I am, Lennon definitely has no future. Siggy & Townsend are young enough to sit on the bench. Lennon and Defoe are not, they need football week in and week out, which they will not get with us.

The way Lennon has been playing he has a long way to go. Last year he was pretty good, this year he seems to have a long way to go.
