Hard to say - the official site has been down for days now.

I keep looking and still no news on the site. Maybe they have big surprise for us!

Did you get in there? I only get: "It looks like something is broken on our system. We can assure you that we have our technical guys working to solve the problem."  :(

If Real Madrid can't get him then United have no chance. Anyway, it is looking good on the transfer front.

Is it? So who have we signed so far then?

Rumours circulating we are preparing to sort Bales contract with a wage of 170k per week, if this is true this is a massive show of intent!!!!

THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

If Spurs are to play with the big boys then we have no choice. So yes, I agree with you.

This story keeps running on and on...

Looks like those hopes of him staying are starting to fade rapidly. Yes there are no official statements from Bale, which is telling. But if he did say anything, it could be more damaging than do any good. So I think he is handling it in the right way. We all hated the reaction from Berbatov and Modric in forcing their move. Bale seems to have more class and if this transfer does happen then we can let Bale go with our compliments and thanks for all he has done for the club.

My only stipulation in the transfer would be that we have a buy back option and that when he gets to the last year of his contract we are allowed to talk to the player. We could then have a future investment in the making. Bale could be welcomed back, if he wanted to return to England, with open arms after he has had the continental experience. If he wants to go to Real, then Levy should respect the professionalism with which he has shown so far. If he plays it correctly, Bale will be a club legend and would surely return one day.

There is one reason and one reason alone that Bale will go this year, rather than giving us one more season and that is the lack of investment that we needed in order to secure 3rd or even 2nd spot. So let us not jump on Bale's back when he goes.

This s**t seems to be happening every season now. 2 weeks before the season starts and all this can only be disruptive to our pre season preparation.
Should we keep or should we sell? 85millions is a lot of money and the reports in that the papers that RM could throw in 2 international players + £50m is even more tempting.
But if we keep selling our best players, no matter how much Levy in the future cries a " player is not for sale" no one will take him seriously.

If any football team reply on just one player then they are finished. I remember when Gazza was playing for Spurs and we relied on him too much. To the point of knowing we were going to lose if he wasn't playing. Whatever; we should be told one way or the other.

So, the papers are saying (yes, they're mostly printing rubbish) that Real Madrid's bank balance isn't as good as they want the world to think. Reportedly they still haven't paid fully for Cristiano Ronaldo and Modrić. Now they're supposedly willing to pay £20m up front for Bale and the rest in installments. Well, if I was Levy or Lewis, I'd tell them to put £100m on the table and they could have the lad.

As I read it - or according to the papers - Spurs want 120 million and to be paid over 5 years. Then AVB said he isn't for sale. So something is happening behind the scenes. Or is it all bluff on behalf of Real Madrid?

I'd rather see him leave for Real Madrid than a domestic club.

Man U have been rumoured to be putting in a bid since the window opened, Moyes has more chance of whistling Dixie with his head stuck up his ARSE, we know that Levy will not sell him to another PL team,(remember 2 yrs ago with Modric and Chelski).

Well apparently we have made a 30 mill offer for Lamela. That, coupled with Eriksson, would suggest that we are still negotiating in private with RM. I just cannot help but think that Bale has lost all interest in playing for us anymore, and that he wants to go to RM. Quite frankly, if we can get those two, plus Contrao and another CB then we will have the best squad that we have ever had.

RSS61 I would agree with you there.

My real big worry is that this saga could end messy and Bale end up hated by many supporters due to his handling of the matter.  I am sure he will be going, I think Levy wants to tie up all incoming players before he does the deal with RM.
