I was always under the impression that Bill Nic was broken hearted at the behavior of the Spurs fans when we lost the UEFA cup final against Feyenoord and this was the final straw that prompted his decision to walk away.
As for the rest of the doom and gloom that some of you miserable gits seem determined to weigh us down with, well this is how the rest of the week goes .
Chelsea win a tough match against FC Basel
Bale is over excited about winning a 100 greatest player of everything awards in a single week and he leads the line for Spurs to beat his old club Southampton.
Redknapp accepts relegation and tells his players to go out and run around and have fun, this is what they do and grab a draw against Ars*nal. Man utd have much the same approach against Chelsea and score a flamboyant win as Sir Alex guerns from the sideline.
Then an upbeat Spurs beat a jaded Chelsea.
You read it all here first. This will happen ity needs to because my faithful CD player has just died and i am relying on spotify for my music so life is pretty grim ,Spurs need to bring the joy back to my life.

lol Puke.... if you're relying on Spurs to bring the joy back into your life, good luck !! I've been waiting since Terry Venables was dispatched for that to happen.

That said, I have a quiet confidence in AVB. So far I like most of what he is striving for. I also dont believe that he would have come out and said that Bale was staying if he hadn't received assurance from Levy. He never makes speculative statements.

4th spot is not as important an issue as to whether Joe Lewis & the board are prepared to change the wage structure to attract the right players. I do not believe that CL football is the main attraction. It is being paid the right amount of money that will bring the right players in, coupled with a belief that the club and manager are building something special, something that will ultimately lead to winning something. Even under Harry, we never looked like winning anything.

Having installed AVB in preference to Redknap then surely it makes sense to back his judgement over which players to try and bring in ? otherwise what was the point in sacking Redknapp ? He could have left him in charge and still spent no money. Harry wouldn't have left once the England job was lost.

There are only 4 teams in next years CL and MU MC and Chelsea are almost full to the brim with players now, so there will be plenty available to us, if only we are prepared to pay the going rate.

RSS,
I agree with your comments on AVB, but the jury is still out, unfortunately I don't trust Levy, he says one thing and does another, as was proved with Modric, although I have to admit Modric didn't help the situation. I really don't think that Bale wants to leave Spurs at the moment, he is obviously very happy, but if Levy wants to sell him he(Levy) will sell, his priority is making a profit for the shareholders, unfortunately I really don't think he is concerned with Spurs being successful. It remains to be seen if Levy spends any money on quality players in the summer, which everyone agrees, if we are to be taken seriously, we need.

How could they possibly have been picked by 'Arry he had been sacked some 6 weeks previously, the Players I am talking about were purchased by your 'Hero Mr.Levy'

[Ars*nal and United have more incoming money than Spurs do. One of the reasons for this is a much bigger stadium. Are you suggesting that Spurs get into debt like Ars*nal and United?]

The reason that Arse---  are in debt is because they built a new stadium, and Man U because they renovated and increased the capacity of their stadium. If their incoming money was more than Spurs then surely they wouldn't be in hock up to their necks? Obviously it is you that want to see Spurs in debt!!

Yes, I think we will learn a lot about Levy and the boards real intentions this summer, one way or the other.

For there can be no doubting AVB's intentions. He has distanced himself from all the speculation about Real Madrid. Its a pity Harry didn't do the same last year.

I will agree that 4th spot is not the be all and end all of the season although we would all be "over the moon" and it would put AVB in a great light. Should we qualify, the problem of the present skinny squad would become obvious and I dare say that we wouldn't last very long in the competition. So, would it mean that "AVB's project" would begin in earnest and the board would start splashing out in a big way to strengthen the squad and, should we not qualify,  would they make the same effort to win the Europa?

I really don't understand why contributors to this site have to constantly make detrimental comments about one Harry Redknapp, if my memory serves me he hasn't been coach for almost 12 months, all you do is stir the pot, Yes I was a supporter of Harry, and I make no apologies for that, all the knockers constantly keep telling us that we should give AVB a chance, if that is the case then I would suggest that you stop making snide comments, cos all it does is get peoples backs up, so GIVE IT A f**kING REST will you.

You just mentioned “rubbish players” not when. And which rubbish players are you talking about?
Levy isn’t my hero and nor did I say so.
Players that are purchased by Mr Levy also have the support of the manager.

Whatever way you look at it Spurs need a larger capacity stadium, more so if they compete with the top clubs. According to Mr Levy it will be better financed than Ars*nal’s ground. Whether he is right only time will tell. Nevertheless if you are saying that spurs shouldn’t build a bigger capacity stadium then you can’t moan if we are not spending as the Ars*nal does and challenging for top honours.

Don’t forget that once this stadium is built they will be getting extra rent from Sainsbury’s and the rents of the other shops and apartments that will be rented out.

Actually I joined this forum after Harry had left and the reason I have mentioned him is because he was/ is constantly talked about on this forum. I agree he is gone and we've got a new manager (and a better one) and we should concentrate on the future and not the past.

I haven't  read anything "detrimental" about Harry lately, purely opinions which is what this is all about, I think. Personally, I like what Harry did for the club, but I believe that AVB will take us further. But that's jut my opinion

Again you have it wrong Voice, the complaint that you hear from most of the Arse--- supporters is that they haven't spent that much money recently, which is why they haven't won anything in recent years, but having said that, what money they have spent, they always seem to get reasonably good players at bargain prices, unlike us who seem to buy crap like Dempsey and to a certain degree Gylfi(those were the players I was talking about).

People really should get off the backs of these players. They have both scored many invaluable goals this season and are good squad players. I don't get it why people hate Dempsey so much. Yes, he started bitching at Fulham, but it is none of our concern really. 11 goals in 39 matches is a decent rate.  >:(

f**king hell, I think I should retire from SpursNetwork. Same old song and dance every f**king day. Harry is good/bad, AVB is good/bad, chairman is doing a great job/is a tight arsehole... no wonder most of the people have left.

Riff,
That is my point, that is all they are squad players, I agree they have both scored valuable goals, but should they be automatic choices, in my opinion , and it is only my opinion, the answer is an emphatic no.

You know our squad is small. At the moment I cannot see many other players who could replace Dempsey and Sigurdsson as our attacking/wide midfielders. We have Dembélé who can play CM and AM and we have Holtby who is still mostly used as a substitute and I can see why. Lennon has been injured a lot and Bale is now mostly playing behind the striker, Townsend is on loan at QPR and cannot be recalled as he would have been recalled already. Huddlestone, Livermore, Parker and Sandro are not attacking midfielders and the latter is out for a few years considering the incompetence of Spurs' medical team. And then we have a young Carroll who is, well, young...
