My feeling is that we will need to win all 4 games. However, I see us blowing it big style unfortunately. 2 home wins, lose at Chelski, draw at Stoke. Sorry I cant be more optimistic. Ars*nal 3 wins, Chelsea 3 wins & a draw.

I think we will win at Chelsea. Were you one of them who said that City, United and Ars*nal would beat us in our last games with them?

I dont remember saying anything about Man Utd & Ars*nal. I didn't think we would beat City, however the 7 minutes of brilliance came right out of the blue as we were being outplayed up until then.

As for Chelsea, my heart says yes, but my head says no. Fair enough, they have 2 games inbetween to our one, its just that we never ever do any good away at Chelsea. Wheras against Man City over the years we have had some great results, as well as getting smashed.

Away to Stoke as well, I dont really see us doing any better that we did at Wigan.

I really wish that I felt more positive, I just don't.

My point was that when it comes to teams like City, United or Chelsea people start jumping up and down and saying we've got no chance. I am more worried about the clubs at the bottom than those at the top.

Chelsea has to play us plus united. I think those two games will decide where Chelsea finish up and our game against Chelsea will go a long way in deciding where we will finish up. I am optimistic.

But then again, too few to mention.

I admire you optimism Voice. I always try to look at the better side of everything and the final 4 games are not by any means a foregone conclusion.

We are about to witness how good we can really be, so let's keep our chins up

I am more optimistic with AVB in charge than when Harry was in charge. However, I was more optimistic when Harry was in charge than some of the managers we had before him; but to be honest that isn't say that much :D

And don't forget Chelsea have a big week coming up. FC Basel, Man Utd and us all in 7 days. They could be knackered by the time they get to us.

Good point and I agree... or at least hoping.

The fact that you are hoping Chelsea are knackered proves my point really, that we are not in the same league as Chelsea. I still think our best chance for 4th is to finish above Ars*nal, as they are the one side in top five, as well us us, who dont have the same financial clout as the others, for now that is.
My conclusion is that if we finish out of the top 4 this season, we may be out of it for a very long while, as Ars*nal are getting ready to spend big time I think. Our only hope then will be a change of ownership and chairman.

Chelsea are able to grind out results even when they play poorly, there squad is good enough and they are able to rotate, so relying on them running out of steam is just a pipe dream.

Champions league will be as important to them as it is for Spurs.

I just hope the club have the ambition to keep Bale and at the end of the season add what the team needs rather than scramble around looking for average players at bargin prices!

As I have read in this thread if we fail to make CL we have achieved nothing again this season and if Bale goes and the club fail to bring in the qualitiy thats required to move forward we are back to square 1 next season.

Voice,
What is your problem? At every opportunity you have to have a dig at past managers, nobody mentioned them, I don't really give a toss about any other teams managers. For your information Bill Nicholson RETIRED, and as far as I am aware Alf Ramsey never managed Spurs. The Chairman has made a few mistakes (that is an understatement) you are correct in saying that we cannot compete financially with City and Chelski but not with Arse--- and United they both have massive DEBTS, all Levy is interested in is ensuring the shareholders get a good dividend, he made close on 55 million pounds over last summers Transfer window and spent about 50 million of it on players, some of whom are rubbish. You keep harping on about the Lane being too small, but it is no good having a 'state of the art' stadium if you don't have a successful Team capable of playing in CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, and capable of challenging for the PREMIERSHIP, cos without that team you are not going to put the BUMS on the SEATS.

Yes, and the main reasons he retired was disillusionment with the overrated overpriced and overpaid players that he was trying to buy, together with lack of loyalty. And this was early 1970's. In those days before Sky TV and billionaire foreigners we were still able to compete for the best available players. Things have only got worse it would seem.

If this cheers up some of you, AVB has stated that Bale will not be sold if we do or do not qualify for the CL . This, I really want to believe.  :nods:

On the subject of previous managers, without fear of upsetting a few people. I also feel more confident with AVB that a number of previous, retired, sacked or simply gone managers. However I will not mention any names!  :nope:

I was using them as an example.

He was forced to retire. The directors want wanted somebody else for a long time. I never said Alf Ramsey managed Spurs. He managed Ipswich and England.

Ars*nal and United have more incoming money than Spurs do. One of the reasons for this is a much bigger stadium.
Are you suggesting that Spurs get into debt like Ars*nal and United?
Levy has to be answerable to others. Don’t forget Joe Lewis actually pulls the strings. Levy is actually the administrator.
Some of those “rubbish players” were picked by ‘Arry who you support.

It is not just me who is harping on about the Lane being too small. Actually there is nobody saying the opposite.
Who said the team isn’t successful? This is AVB’s first season and this season isn’t over yet. Once the season has ended and we qualify for Champions League (hopefully) football then we can build for that competition.
I agree that without challenging for the title and Champions league football you won’t get bums on seats. That is why we need to build a bigger stadium and also have the right manager for the job.

Football had changed and he couldn't bring himself to look forward, rather than backwards.

I don't think it got worse, but I do agree that we've got to change and change our stadium to compete and be one of the top clubs.

I agree. AVB is a better manager than some of the previous ones we have had.

Well, they said the same about Modric. Though, I must admit I cannot see Bale going AWOL or pulling a Berbastard on us.

I would say the same, but if we don't reach the top 4 then I might not be so sure.

I was always under the impression that Bill Nic was broken hearted at the behavior of the Spurs fans when we lost the UEFA cup final against Feyenoord and this was the final straw that prompted his decision to walk away.
As for the rest of the doom and gloom that some of you miserable gits seem determined to weigh us down with, well this is how the rest of the week goes .
Chelsea win a tough match against FC Basel
Bale is over excited about winning a 100 greatest player of everything awards in a single week and he leads the line for Spurs to beat his old club Southampton.
Redknapp accepts relegation and tells his players to go out and run around and have fun, this is what they do and grab a draw against Ars*nal. Man utd have much the same approach against Chelsea and score a flamboyant win as Sir Alex guerns from the sideline.
Then an upbeat Spurs beat a jaded Chelsea.
You read it all here first. This will happen ity needs to because my faithful CD player has just died and i am relying on spotify for my music so life is pretty grim ,Spurs need to bring the joy back to my life.
