Voice,

4. We sold both our PLAYMAKERS(Modric-No choice, & VDV that was DUMB)(Correct)
I disagree. Even under Harry he was being subed a lot. He also sufferede with a lot of injuries.

Quote
5. Replaced Modric with Dembele-That will prove to be a REALLY good decision in the FUTURE.(Correct)

That isn't the full story. Dembele wasn't a replacement for Modric. The player they wanted they couldn't get.

Quote
6. Replacing VDV with Dempsey-NOW THAT WAS A REALLY DUMB DECISION, He couldn't lace VDV's boots.

Again that isn't the full story. Dempsey was going to be more of a squad player.
Quote
7. Taking off Defoe instead of Dempsey-Even a blind man can see that he(Dempsey) isn't good enough(That was STUPID)-Correct
To be fair I thought it was a mistake keeping Defoe; he even struggled to get a place under Harry.

Quote
8. Unable to find a way of beating a second rate PL side like Wigan (Not good enough)

That is a stupid comment and I've already replied to that one in another post.

9.I DO NOT THINK

Reading your other comments that is pretty obvious. Maybe if you tried you might get some better answers. ;)

Voice, you are a very welcome new contributor to this forum. I may not agree with everything you say. But I do like how you say it. Someone who is willing to pull apart an argument and counter it with interesting alternatives. I look forward to being on opposing viewpoints one day. But so far, most of what you have said, seems pretty sound to me.  :)
Maybe next year...

I think people are being a bit unfair here. I went to the Wigan game.

First:-
1.   Spurs had 5 missing players.
2.   Wigan have beaten some good clubs over the years.
3.   On Match of the day on Saturday night Alan H said that taking the last part of last season and this season Wigan would be in the top 5.
4.   Spurs haven’t managed to replace Modric. Hopefully we will buy in the transfer window.
5.   Don’t forget that when Alex Ferguson took over United he was one game from getting the sack. It was the West Ham game that turned it around for him. He is not regarded as one of the greats.
6.   If you are not going to give managers a chance then we will never achieve anything.
7.   Wigan are a good little side who have beaten some top teams.

I thought Spurs battled well against a good side. Don’t forget that Wigan beat Harry’s Spurs. Give AVB a chance. What Tottenham and AVB don’t need is for fans talking out their Ars*nal.
Let us judge at the end of the season and in the meantime back him. If given the chance he could be one of our great managers.

I have faith in AVB.

Funny how the majority of Spurs fans seem to now be doubting AVB after stomaching his style (or lack of it) of football and his inability to man motivate, plus his annoying insistence on trying to defend 1 goal leads ... since when have we been the Woolwich Wanderers !!!

Just because he got one lucky win at Old Trafford that makes everything else alright..... sorry not for me !!!!

You can quote stats and injury problems and all number of planetary alignments but at the end of the day we should be beating Norwich, WBA and Wigan at home..... period !!!!!

Voice,
VDV still had a couple of seasons playing in the PL, he was well worth keeping until we could get a replacement, when he played at least he made things happen, Dempsey does nothing and quite frankly he isn't good enough even to be a squad player for us, why then is he playing in the same position that VDV occupied. Your argument on that point is mis-informed.

Dembele WAS bought as a replacement for Modric they bought him when it was obvious that we weren't going to get Moutinho. Again your argument is mis-informed.

You are dodging the point regarding Defoe, he should not have been taken off on Sat!!
If Defoe isn't a good player PLEASE tell me why he is selected constantly for ENGLAND and why he is scoring regularly for Spurs and England. The reason he couldn't get a game under Harry was because if you remember he suffered a form slump last season.

As for point 8 being a stupid comment, Did we or did we not go 1-0 down early in the 2nd half, AVB didn't have an answer or a plan to overcome a coach who played a 3-5-2 formation, that showed his expertise or lack of it, his answer was to take off a proven IN-FORM striker and leave on a player who at best should only be on the bench(or in your words a SQUAD PLAYER)

Finally I think it is blatantly obvious that the person who isn't thinking is your self. Perhaps if you were to apply some thought to the points I raised you would have got your facts right or maybe you cant see the wood for the trees!!!

Mass does not equate to intelligence or understanding. Just look at the battle between Sugar v Venables. Most of the fans supported Venables, I supported Sugar; and the reason for this was that Sugar had money on his side while Venables was a chancer who would have eventually destroyed our club.
Let us have this discussion at the end of the season.

Let us look at the facts; we’ve bought new players in and sold others. At the moment we have five injured. We are at a transitional period; on top of all that we are about 7 points behind the leaders of the Premiership. If you had said that at the beginning of the season they (the supporters) would have said “thank God”; and I am not referring to Hoddle’s father here.

Of course; because clubs like Manchester United, City, Chelsea and Ars*nal never lose to clubs like WBA, Wigan, Norwich; either home or away! Silly me! Considering our injury list I thought he has done a very good job.

If we had all our players fit I don’t think your points would have come up. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. However, talking to people I know I don’t think it was clear cut as it was made out in the press; about VDV

He wasn’t. I think there thinking was more as a squad player. However, we don’t know what would have happened if Dembele had played.
Quote
You are dodging the point regarding Defoe, he should not have been taken off on Sat!!
I did think that at the time; that they should have had two strikers and should have probably taken of somebody else. However, we are not privileged to the managers thinking; personally I think it was a mistake to keep him (i.e. Defoe).
Quote
If Defoe isn't a good player PLEASE tell me why he is selected constantly for ENGLAND and why he is scoring regularly for Spurs and England. The reason he couldn't get a game under Harry was because if you remember he suffered a form slump last season.
That isn’t hard; just look at what England has got. And is he scoring regularly for Spurs?

I disagree with your prognosis. However, let us wait and see. We are not privileged to his thinking. Whatever we say he should be given a chance. It is too early to talk about sacking him.

Well, you could be right. However, I am prepared to give him a bit more time. When we are at the end of the season and we are stirring relegation in the face you can jump up and down and tell us all how we got it wrong…. On the other hand……..

Please point out using your undoubted higher intellect and almost faultless logic, where in any of my posts I wished for the Woolwich Wanderers to win the League !!

Or are you indeed spending too much time reading your brand of s**te that has suddenly appeared all over this forum !!!

Please do not accuse me of being a Woolwich Wanderers fan in any way, shape or form as I find this to be highly offensive and extremely distasteful.

As far as I'm concerned AVB is a waste of space and we are going backwards, regardless of any injuries, bad luck or any other kind of defence you can think of for his poor performance as a manager. If you are a big Spurs fan as you claim and have watched them for the years you claim you will understand that we play football that is exciting and entertaining which is more suited to cup competitions than a sustained League campaign, under AVB this is dying and we are not improving ... simple!!!!

Whilst you are right that we should have kept him, I think you will find that he wanted to return to Germany, as his wife is living there and he was obviously not happy here.

Also do not forget that he was mostly unable to last 90 minutes, and to get 10 million for him to hopefully re-invest in somebody like Mouthino ( though it never came off ) probably made sense at the time.

10 million for 29-year-old player who is injury prone and almost never fully fit - sounds like a good deal to me. Too bad he hasn't been replaced, though.

Well, maybe you should stop moaning and give AVB a chance. Those that usually moan are Ars*nal supporters so I drew my conclusion from that. Or are you just pissing in the wind?

Actually you make a good point here; the way we’ve played for years. And over those years what have we won? I don’t want Spurs to be nearly hopers but winners. Styles are ok if we have something to show for it; we don’t and haven’t had since Berkinshaw and before that Nicholson. Even Harry won us bugger all. Whatever style or not AVB has or hasn’t got he will be judged in how he ends the season and what trophies he’s captured. If you want style then go to Savile Row.

You could be right; he might be a waste of space. And if he is I’ll be shouting along with you, however, in the mean time I am prepared to give him the benefit of doubt. He’s not going anywhere so let us support him and Spurs. If you can’t do that then I do question your loyalty and whether you do have hidden loyalities!!!

Whatever the regular moaners on this forum think, AVB should and will rightly be give the time he needs. I have faith in him until proven otherwise!
