According to reports we are in advanced talks with AVB. How do you all feel about that one ?

He was brought into Chelsea to do a job, clear out the old guard and start a new challenge. He seemed to do that, with bad results, and got sacked.

Maybe for us he will have the same problems, but there is a real need for us to move on the deadwood. Lets hope he does have some good ideas lined up, and is given time for them to work.

Lets hope the story is all a complete load of Bulls**t...... AVB a one season wonder in Portugal (a vastly less talented league) and a one season (Six month) disaster at Chelski.

Christian Gross comes to mind for those of you who can remember (shudders with the memories) brilliant at Grasshoppers and then absolute tosh when he left !!!

NO, let's hope it doesn't happen, the bloke is to young and is an out an plonker. Get ready for a relegation fight, and I bet you he will be sacked by the end of the season !!

Not good news in my opinion. As I have previously mentioned. AVB coming in if Harry went to England could have worked. But under these circumstances he is virtually on a hiding to nothing. One blip or a slow start and the flash mob will descend on WHL demanding both AVB and LEVY out. Unless he pulls off a wonder start I think he will be gone by Christmas. (If he comes, I hope I am wrong)

Just heard that Bert van Marwijk has resigned from Holland. Maybe VDV has hinted at his availability and this ends up the mystery signing no one was expecting. I know the Dutch did not play well during the Euros but have played well prior to this. Also, he is not exactly the young and easily manipulated manager, I think Levy is looking for.

His spell at Chelsea told it all the gap between Portugese football and the premier lge.
Was clueless at Chelsea his tactics were wrong and he so nearly screwed their season and their future.
So lets hope that this is just an unfounded rummour if not I think we are in for a pretty rough ride this season. :o

Maybe yes, maybe no. He had problems with Terry Drogba and Lampard, which if he does get the job with us presumably wont apply. Bale has signed a new contract, so he must know something we all dont.

He isn't, but why would anyone think that a manager that who has only managed the best players in the world and had an almost bottomless pit of money, do well at a club which has somewhat lesser players and a chairman who is as tight as a ducks bottom ?

Who would you like to be our manager then? You often tell us what is wrong but can you put your head on the line?

1.) Who would you choose for our next manager?

2.) Who do you think we will get?
Maybe next year...

My first choice would be a bloke called Arry Redknapp, but that won't happen. If push came to shuv I would TRY and get Moyes. The person we will get, and I really believe that he is the worst manager I have ever seen in the prem, is AVB. We are well and truly doomed !!

I agree with you totally if we have to have someone then Moyes would be better than most but I am still holding out for Laurent Blanc, don't know why .....just seems to be the best of a poor selection in my eyes !!!

Two steps forward three steps back .... that's the Spurs way it seems like the Chairman and board get scared when we get close and pull the plug just before we get there because they are frightened it might cost more than £30 and some luncheon vouchers !!!!!!

Agree with you on the first choice. Moyes would be ok but I think I would prefer Pardew, for the way he has taken Newcastle on and how he has managed to produce a side without too much cash from the chairman.

I don't believe AVB is the worst choice, but it is definitely the wrong time. I hope I am wrong.
