Sunday.................From a Villa fan in peace.

Hi lads.  First and foremost, congrats on your European adventure, you did the country proud.  I hope you don't mind me posting on here Spurs fans are generally up for a bit of banter so I thought it'd be OK.   :-X  As a die hard Villa fan I have to admit that I wasn't looking forward to seeing you lot in the CL after we missed out but you did  very well indeed, so for that, well done.  Now, to Sunday, we have the bindippers at the Villa and you have the Blues at WHL.  Let's do a deal, beat the scum for us and we'll hammer the reds for you, (yes, I know you already did that last week) but just in case!!!  We did a job on the Arse last week (ooh er!) so please, PLEASE, send the noses down and we'll beat the redscouse just for fun.  Once again, congrats on your CL adventure, you did your club and country proud.  At least send the Blues down for us JUST for beating the Frenchies at the Emirates (1st team to do it since you).  Good luck.

Oh, and if you want to see some quality support (you are the best fans that come to VP each year by the way), check this link out from the Villa end at the Emirates last week.  All the Villa were in fancy dress and singing, "Blues came up and they're going straight back down", it went on for the whole game.

Villa vs Ars*nal

GL next season.

Cheers lads!   ;)

Fair play mate. Always like Villa park and the trip there this season on boxing day was fantastic.

I'll always like Birmingham because they beat the scum in the cup final (sorry I know you hated that). I still want them to go down as I hate there s**tty ground and s**tty supporters.

Looks a great day the Emirates but let's face it, it ain't hard to outsing the woolwich lot!

Oh and by the way, once you've got over the devastation of Wet Spam going down  :P, can I ask you how much Sandra Redknapp would cost us cos if she's better than Darren Bent we need to sign her up!  :)

Has he learnt to control a football yet?

No.  I wish we hadn't bought him.   ;)

He controlled the ball pretty well for his 1st goal at the Arse though.  Top goal, top player.

On another note, genuine question here, I've heard that there are some Spurs fans who want Harry out.  Is this a general consensus?  From the outside looking in it seems he's done a great job but I know it's not as simple as that, do you want him to stay?

Have a look at the thread I made called/ "maybe I've been a tad harsh this season".
I love Harry for what he's done but I dislike the way he treats fans.

There has been disquiet about Harry on many fansites. On here we have two threads..."Taxi for Mr Redknapp" and "maybe I've been a tad harsh this season".  Both have had a lots of posts. He is certainly aware of it and maybe he has taken notice now.

Top man.  Thanks for making me feel welcome.  I have to say though, us football fans are very blinkered sometimes and I can see why Bent gets a bit of stick from your lot but come on, he has been bangin them in for the Villa and without his goals we'd be in serious trouble.  When we signed him I thought he was a fox in the box type player who will put the ball in the net when presented with an easy opportunity but, BUT, he is far more than that.  His 1st goal at the Arse was a classic example of what the man can do and he has shown time and time again why he is the best finisher in the league.  He is a team player, to my surprise, and does so much off the ball that I have had to re evaluate my idea of what a striker should do.  His movement is second to none and the 9 goals he has got in 15 games (without pens) has kept us up.  You have a super, super side at the Lane but I honestly think you missed a trick letting Bent go.  That's just my opinion and I am amazed at how Spurs fans seem to underrate him.  Then again, paradoxically, I am amazed at how well he has done for the Villa.

We got a 8 million sell on fee though.

In terms of Bent I hope you don't take this in the wrong way as I really don't mean it as a digg, but Darrent Bent is the "top player" at Villa. He's bigger than Young imo and he needs to feel loved and need to be that big player. He was at Charlton, Sunderland and now is at Villa. At Spurs he was just another player who never really found his place. If he was in our side now he'd probably had scored 10-15 goals but I really don't see him as a Tottenham type striker and I don't regret selling him.

Also he disappointed me in the way he celebrated when he scored again us when the supporters never done anything to him.

I don't take as a dig mate, I understand your point.  However, facts are facts and DB has scored more goals than any other player (or at least 1 or 2 out, though I think he's ahead) in the Prem over the last 5 years.  Now, taking into account all you've said, shouldn't a manager utilise that rare talent and make him the star man up front, not in the team, but up front.  Ash Young has been good this season but Downing has been brilliant and with our piss poor defence we've still managed a mid table finish.  To summarise, Bale, VDV, and a few others have been awesome for you this year but imagine if you'd had Bent's goals as well....

Surely you can see where I'm coming from.

EDIT:  If MON had signed Bent instead of Heskey we'd have been in the CL by now.  Oh well............ At least we've won it.   ;)  (When I was too young to enjoy it!)

Totally forgot he went to Sunderland first  :hide:, must have got confused over the funds we got from sell on!  Didnt he bang in a few against us when he was a Sunderland??

Anyways his Sat Nav seems to be working now ever since leaving us
