There's always the Europa League

Nothing to say but given the last two results, I think this is where we'll be. We cant beat Blackpool or Wolves away and here's the rub, we have City, Chelsea and Liverpool to play away. 'Nuff said

Christ I'd hate to live anywhere near you, we lost to Blackpool and you thought the world would end, now we draw in a tough game with half a team at a team playing for there lives and your giving it the bottom lip. You must ooze optimism and good feelings LOL.

I honestly think that Wolves would have given Barcelona a hard game playing with that level of determination. It's very easy to switch off when decisions go against you or when you go from being 1-0 up to 1-2 down. They didn't stop fighting. Yes, they're at the bottom end of the table, but teams facing relegation are never the easier games.

Holtspur is right, we have two chances of CL next year, no chance and absolutely no chance. Being an optimist doesn't make you a better supporter mate, it just shows your lack of football knowledge. We have lost against a really poor team on bad form (Blackpool) who will get absolutely slaughtered tonight against Chelski. We then just managed to claw a draw against 2nd from bottom Wolves. In my book that doesn't make us top four material. Like Holtspur said, look forward to the European Micky Mouse cup !!

no doubt you were full of optimism last year too after the Pompey game.... I doubt youre a supporter at all really.... more a 'hanger-on'  that many teams have when they are doing well...

your 'support' is fairly pointless.... come back when we've won the league next season, you can claim to be Spurs biggest supporter then I'm sure

If we dont make top 4 i want us to finish 8th so we can have a real crack at winning the league next year playing a lot less games than everyone else.

challenging for Top4 means you will inevitably finish in Top6..... Brum have got EL spot thru the League Cup win so 7th is not enough this year...

We can do without Europa league. You have to play 19 games to win it I believe so thats another half a season and no one apart from the fans involved gives a stuff. Why they came up with this nonsense is a mystery they should have just left the Cup Winners Cup alone, at least you had to have won something (or got to the final) to qualify and it had a bit of status. The Channel 5 cup is a load of bollocks everybody seems to be doing there best to get knocked out off, until they reach the semi-final then it's oooooh we could win a pot best bring in the 1st team. Much like the Carling Cup but with Air Miles. If as seems likely we are forced into this use it to bring on young players instead of sending them on loan nobody from the 1st team squad should go anywhere near it unless we make it to the semi-final of course lol.

Agree with Millers and to a point with Taime. If it looks like CL is out of the question and with Chelsea winning last night making all the more difficult, I would rather the squad concentrate on the Premiership next season and hopefully qualify easier - providing we can keep the likes of Bale, Hudders, Lennon, Modric, Krankers and Defoe. Not qualifying could see them go and they deserve to be playing there. Where will we be without them?............its a frightening prospect, but we have been the also rans before. Remember we qualified for the CL as we thankfully just missed out on a Europa League place by coming 8th the season before, so we could concentrate on the Premiership (a fabulous achievement by Harry considering we were bottom the previous October). So yes, in many ways I would prefer we miss out on Europa if we fail to make the Top 4 - then again, we would qualify if we won the CL this season! Before I get any abuse, I am a fan, I love the club, its been in my family for generations and I have bought shares in it, but I am entitled to an opinion based on what I see before me.  :ohyeah:

I think all this live-tv football has spoilt quite a few of the 'armchairs' around... so we end up sticking our noses up for the Europa League.

lets be honest, apart from Barcelona and R.Madrid who would we so desperately wanas play that we couldnt play in the EL ??.... I think the EL is a great competition as it tends to showcase upcoming teams and players not yet given the megahype treatment.... in many ways its more interesting than watching Barca or Madrid yet again (after al they are only on once a week on SkySports EVERY bloody week)...

and as the EL is not on the pay-channels its a great way to see another 12-16 games of Spurs on tv for free.

Viva la Europa... if it comes to it.

Thats all very well free football is getting rarer its true, and if you just want to watch Spurs play games no matter who against then yes you have a valid point. But I like to see something with a bit more substance than what would inevitably be Spurs reserves vs the third best team in Poland or whatever. To that end I would rather give Europa League a miss and concentrate all our efforts on the Prem who knows without European distraction we may even be able to challenge for the title. With all the players fit and only playing once a week we would be a decent bet to be right up there I should think.

if it means seeing alot of our upcoming reservists eg. Townsend, Bostock and Caulkin given a go, well isnt that another incentive to see us in the EL ??..... plus on free-tv too..... not a bad trade-off at all, if you ask me..

and lets not forget that from next season onwards, Uefa Revenues to Spending rules kick in so if we're not in Europa, and assuming we make at least 1m from gate receipts for home-games plus tv-money, and say we play a dozen games at least - thats still serious money to turn away.... plus as I said, our reserve players get a chance to maybe shine and push for a regular-place...

I'm seriously thinking its not worth any young players to come to Spurs anymore eg. Bostock, Parrett, even Taarabt never really got a decent run in the team..... better they go elsewhere in future if all us fans are interested is in Prem games and instant success to get into CL...

CL or EL.... I am seriously not sure which I prefer for Spurs.... so either way, I is happy..

PS - there are loadsa good teams in the group stage of EL too.... I've seen loadsa good match-ups this season and last on ESPN and Channel5 etc... eg. Juventus, Valencia, Ajax, Sevilla, Bordeaux, Dortmund, Sampdoria to name but a few...
