This was on coys and then Spurscommunity, probably untrue but I thought I would put here and let you guys decide for yourselves.

"Just got reliable news that Bale is definately coming to Spurs in summer

This source is very very close to the player and he has bought a house in chelmsford, near some of our other players I believe (thats why I had another thread checking if they did actually live there)

He said he would have preferred a move to Man Utd but he chose spurs as they garenteed him first team football, something Sir Alex couldnt apparently. My source spoke to him directly, so this is very reliable."

There are many rumours going round about Gareth Bale within various clubs, however I've also heard he's really happy at Southampton, and they are happy to keep him there.

He has already made it clear that he is happy playing for Southampton and won't be making a move any time soon, however agreeing with you Biggzy, I would love to see him at the Lane.

He's highly talented, class at going forward, and contributes an attacking & defending force to a team.

I think Gareth Bale is an enourmous talent, who will have a nice career. Only 17 years old, but so good. Maybe Tottenham should sign him....

Pity for you he's Welshman.... :)

(Btw; with FIFA 07 I got him with Tottenham)
AFC Ajax

We need a freekick specialist though and he would do a good job. I agree the price tag is a bit steep but it shows we are moving in the right direction. Keep LYP as well though

Yeh i think he would be a great buy if we could get him for a little less maybe and once he gets a couple of seasons premiership experience under his belt he will be very good. He did have a hard time against duff tho when ireland layed wales, defo keep LYP and maybe he can help bale with defending n maybe bale could teach LYP how to cross lol.

Not interested, go back into Europe and find the Berbatov equivalent of defending.

I am totally for young British players but I feel if we are too move on as a club some experience / proved quality is needed, especially as we are now fighting for regular european / cup football, plus the saints will want a small fortune for him.

Unless it's 15m+ :D lol..

lol, yeh it would be a big mistake to let him go as we have chopped and changed the left back spot too much in recent seasons and lee has been good enough to keep it for at least next season.

Any1 remember how much we paid for him?
