but everyone hates A.Coli cos he's just Mr Angry...... and Ars*nal had Clichy already, and they got Gallas when they needed an experienced CB still in his 20s....

still not sure what Campbell did that was wrong... he was perfectly entitled to run his contract down and get the best deal for himself.... he also won the Prem title with his next club I believe as well as play in a CL Final.... even scoring in it..

great servant for the club... he cost Spurs nothing in transfer-fee..... and paid his dues.... got to play for the greatest title-winning side possibly ever too: 'The Invincibles'...

to balance things up, we got the likes of Lennon and Bale cheaply..... so its all gravy..
Come on Gareth, signing for your arch enemy in a fashion like that is like banging your best friend's old lady (of course it is probably just fine for some chavs).

Riffsy..... its only an issue if you make it one..

Campbell had played for Spurs with distinction for years, at the time he was 1 of the best CBs in world football.... Spurs were a middling Prem team that could barely get into the Uefa Cup..

at the time he wanted to win things that would reflect his value and status in the game, therefore the choice was Ars*nal or ManUtd.... I'm not even sure they bid for his signature..

Ars*nal are a London club.... he is a London boy with all his close family in London..

Ars*nal strongly wanted him and offered him a huge at the time contract at 100k a week.... Spurs couldnt offer half that...

I repeat.... when he left Campbell didnt owe Spurs a thing.... he had paid his dues..

in his time at Spurs, a certain Mr G Graham also signed to coach Spurs... and the Ars*nal fans didnt go ballistic as I recall..

Sol Campbell did whats best for himself and his family... his 1st priority by far....

are you getting the picture yet ??

Gareth you really don't understand do you, not being a Spurs fan you obviously find it hard to comprehend. All of what you have stated above is more or less true that is not being disputed, Sol Campbell basically lied to the thousands and thousands of Spurs fans thats why he is hated so much !!
When you continually say wait till the end of the season and I'll sort out and sign my contract, and I love Spurs, I only want to play for Spurs etc etc etc... then you go and sign for their biggest and most hated rivals.... need I say more?
Or in your language Gareth your boyfriend tells you he loves you then goes and shags you mother... now do you get it ?

Campbell never said he wo7ld sign for any specific club incl. Spurs.... how could he say that when he hadnt even begun negotiations... all he said was that he would negotiate after the season was over..... the sensible thing for any player in his position...

if Spurs wanted to, they could have tried to extend his contract a good 2yrs before it ran out.... they didnt.

he said he loved Spurs..... it was his club since childhood, so that was true..... so what ??.... maybe he should play for nothing. He is a professional footballer.... the clue is in the title.

This is all true, and probably in any other business but sport perfectly acceptable. If a rival company offered me twice as much money and better terms and conditions I'd be off like a shot, and so I expect would the rest of you. However this is football. The rules, as we the fans see them at least, are different we want the same loyalty to the club from the players as we show as fans. We expect the same level of commitment as we show every week. We want to share in the triumphs and see them feel our pain at the defeats. When our captain, a boy who came through the ranks who we felt had Spurs in his blood sells himself to our hated neighbours we naturally feel a little resentful. In the cold light of day Campbell got himself a great deal but to us who feel a passion for the club that he obviously did not his behaviour stinks of treachery and betrayal.

One can just hope that Palacios is a big man enough to ingnore booing muppets. Every player has highs and lows but unfortunately some so-called fans are too infantile to understand that.

They were jeering him when he passes to a another spurs player, but i know what you mean and i  hope your right Riff.

Palacois isn't exactly in the form of his life so the cheeing/jeering could be quite detremental to his confidence  - lowering it further which isn't going to be good for Wilson.

I was delighted to see him start on Sunday. And i enjoy watching his style of bracking up the play. I just hope he can re-discover the form he was in when we snapped him up from Wigan!

Taime.... youre a sensible chap but I think on this youre wrong...

Fans/supporters are ONLY loyal as long as the player plays well, doesnt cause a fuss and basically acts as a slave....

where is the 'loyalty' now from the fans/supporters for Palacios, now that his form is PERCEIVED to have gone down dramatically ??.....

a player should always take fanbase opinion with a large pinch of sodium chloride..... fickle, simple-minded, infantile in their exhubarence or disdain in equal measure..

I mean loyalty to the club as opposed to individual players. For sure we don't want players rocking the boat, we like to think they have all reached the pinnacle of their career when they join Spurs, and are grateful to be playing for us. It comes as a blow when we find this isn't always the case, and that some would like to earn more money or, heaven forbid, win the occasional trophy and so we turn on them despite the good service they may have given in the past.
Sometimes we buy in a supposed good player who turns out to be rubbish (we used to do that a lot ) and we turn on them because they are letting down our club and our hopes and dreams for it.
Palacios doesn't fit in either category and the fans who booed him should be ashamed. He is in a bit of a dip. Understandably given the tradegy in his family life his mind may not be fully focused on football being played miles from his home. Without the injurys to VDV and Kaboul he would no doubt have been subbed on sunday. His 1st half performance wasn't great. But I thought he played a lot better in the 2nd half. Sandro is still not ready and with Jenas and Hudd out Palacios will more than likely be playing regularly. We should give him our support booing is not great motivation nor are ironic cheers.
