Taime.... youre a sensible chap but I think on this youre wrong...
Fans/supporters are ONLY loyal as long as the player plays well, doesnt cause a fuss and basically acts as a slave....
where is the 'loyalty' now from the fans/supporters for Palacios, now that his form is PERCEIVED to have gone down dramatically ??.....
a player should always take fanbase opinion with a large pinch of sodium chloride..... fickle, simple-minded, infantile in their exhubarence or disdain in equal measure..
I mean loyalty to the club as opposed to individual players. For sure we don't want players rocking the boat, we like to think they have all reached the pinnacle of their career when they join Spurs, and are grateful to be playing for us. It comes as a blow when we find this isn't always the case, and that some would like to earn more money or, heaven forbid, win the occasional trophy and so we turn on them despite the good service they may have given in the past.
Sometimes we buy in a supposed good player who turns out to be rubbish (we used to do that a lot ) and we turn on them because they are letting down our club and our hopes and dreams for it.
Palacios doesn't fit in either category and the fans who booed him should be ashamed. He is in a bit of a dip. Understandably given the tradegy in his family life his mind may not be fully focused on football being played miles from his home. Without the injurys to VDV and Kaboul he would no doubt have been subbed on sunday. His 1st half performance wasn't great. But I thought he played a lot better in the 2nd half. Sandro is still not ready and with Jenas and Hudd out Palacios will more than likely be playing regularly. We should give him our support booing is not great motivation nor are ironic cheers.
