Bit of a gamble now with the 25 man squad rule. It would be great if he came back fully fit and able to complete the season. But if he breaksdown after a couple of games that would leave us short particularly with Ledley being so fragile.

A very good point, i just dont see him managing many games. Really hope i am wrong but no pre-season and the long term injury is just too much of a gamble.

I have mixed feelings about this news if true, yes it would be great to have Woody back to full fitness and I would be pleased for him that his career is not over.

He is without any doubt or argument a top class central defender when fit, one of the best!

My worry is that he returns to fitness, the powers that be think ah we have enough central defenders now no need to buy then when doing up his boot laces a couple games in another injury and out for the seasn and we are back in the brown stuff!

Regardless as to whether King and/or Woody return to full fitness we do look at that position for that position for a long term partnership with Daws.  Woody and King great as they are their days are limited and even when fit its a case of how long until.......

On another note great to see Gallas slowly proving me wrong

THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

with Defoe now back and the need therefore to play vdV at RM: who offers no defensive cover for the RB whatsoever, its very unlikely that Dawson will ever again be playing regularly for Spurs.... especially with the re-emergence of Gallas at rightside CB... even Kaboul is better there..

\Dawson lacks the pace to cover the lateral space near his RB, and Arry knows this.... the only way Dawson will now play ahead of the resurgent Gallas.... Capt. Gallas no less..... is if Gallas is injured/rested...

may sound unedifying, but the truth is..... the injuriy situations have really worked out well for Spurs overall this season.. and now I'm thinking of THudd in particular..

It's so nice to see you've managed to hijack yet another thread to bash Dawson/Modric or laud Jenas.

I was responding to a post directly above mine, which said that we need to find a long-term successor to partner Dawson...

I merely stated that Dawson will be lucky to even be making the teas at halftime, with the resurgence of Gallas and now that vdV will increasingly play at RM (with Defoe back upfront)..

elementary my dear Riffsy..

even IF he returns to play, he will be a shadow of his former self... the injury will have left an indelible mark on his mind and he will play very gingerly and thus poorly... also he's now probably 30+ and is gonna decline now albeit even more rapidly than if fully-fit...

You mean the same guy that came back from a long injury layoff last season and almost immediately gave himself a concussion by laying out to block a shot and clanging his noggin off the goalpost?
Yeah, he'll probably lay low.
He's strained his left adductor muscle it says. Whats that then ? Do we all have those or just footballers ? I wonder how mine are ? *courtesy of taimedowne*

Wilson is right, every time Woodgate comes back from injury ( and it has been more that enough times ) he never lets his injury play on his mind.

Real Madrid for example, injured for a whole season, came back into the squad/ Had a shocking début, but other than that he played well

and as Wilson mentioned, last season when he came back played well to. The game he acually got injured in was because he was clearing the ball off the line against Wolves.

So if fully fit, i think he will come back strong.

Woody is clearly a wild man. He's going to be full throttle when he steps onto the pitch. Just wired that way.

Even more evidence that Gareth has never played organized sports. Otherwise he would've been able to recognize that.

in the current case of his injury, I dont think the previous situations apply.... he knows hes 30yrs+ and been out for nearly 2yrs and with a groin injury its going to affect his every movement (unlike say a shoulder injury)....

he'd have to be a moron to not take any notice IF he ever comes back for the 5mins left in his career.... so I guess youre all probably right, he won't be giving a toss...

Woody is a class experienced Cb, theres no rush to get him back just yet, i think it could be worth waiting to bring him back next season if it means he'll be fit

Hod the God what did ya hear fella?

If his problem has been cracked that would be great news for us, we have to be certain his prolific injuries are behind him though or we would still need to look at bringing in another class CB for the long term good of the team.
The pairing of Kaboul and Gallas is looking pretty ok which is pleasantly surprising glad I and am being proven wrong regarding Gallas which is awesome

I have no idea what a DDOS attack is but it sounds a bit like a girl with large breasts attacking us? Is there any video of the attack as i would like to watch that one day?
