The title of this thread is one that I find more than a little strange.
There is no run of poor form at Spurs. Quite the opposite.
We are now a team able to fight back and win from going a goal down. This was not the case a couple of seasons ago.
We are now a team that expects to win, this was not the case a couple of seasons ago.
The fact is that Spurs are and always will be unpredictable. Sublime one moment, bumbling the next. No lead is to great to throw away and no deficit too big to fight back from.
It is never easy or predictable, and that is why i love them.
There is no poor form just mixed form.
But the unrestrained joy that comes with watching Bale. The intelligence and drive of VDV and Modric. the insanity of Bae and Gomes. The heroism of King. Is there any team that is better to watch? I think not.
We have a team that could just win at the San Siro one week and lose at home to West Ham the next.
Me. i just enjoy the ride.
I like and agree with some of your points and they make a great read mate
I agree with you when you say we are a team that expects to win now, especially at home. The defeats to Wigan and West Ham were dissOpointing to say the least, but maybe we have been a victim of our own sucess.
What i mean is..
Last season we had a great year and raised the bar for ourselves in what we "expected" Tottenham to do in the League. The Champions League is a big big competition for us and its clear to see we often have one eye on those games (e.g the West Ham defeat). Yes yu could say we maybe could have drawn (Hudd's miss) but credit to West Ham, they had a real go and played well so it paid off. Without the CL i would have thought we would have got at least a point or maybe 3.
Also after big midweek CL games we look flat, tired and struggle to get going on a weekend match, again this may be down to our own success. The games against Wigan and Wolves and the first 40 mins against Villa i thimk are perfect examples, thankfully Harry's subs were able to change the game for us vs Wolves. And VDV did the business agaisnt Villa.
So would i change our situation of playing in the CL in order to maybe get better League results?
HELL NO!
Like Pukekohespur said lets enjot the ride, take the up's and the downs, because we all know we are is where we want to be
COYS!
