Carrick & Joe Cole Possible Targets?

Harry has   played down reports linking us with moves for Michael   Carrick and Joe Cole. 

Tottenham boss Redknapp has maintained that he will not be making wholesale changes to his squad, although some additions may be made, as the club prepare to go into the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history.

Spurs secured their position with a 1-0 win over fourth spot rivals Manchester City on Wednesday, and Redknapp is expected to bolster his squad in order to compete in Europe's Premier club competition.

Carrick of Manchester United and Cole of Chelsea, were raised together through West Ham's youth system when Redknapp was in charge of the East London club, giving both players their professional debuts during his time there.

Cole left the Hammers to join Chelsea in 2003, but injury has cost him a regular place in the starting XI and he has yet to agree a new deal at Stamford Bridge, with rumours of him heading out of the exit door in the coming summer should he not agree new terms.

"I have never discussed Joe with anybody," Redknapp said.

"I signed Joe as an 11-year-old and I know him better than anybody.

"He's a fantastic player but he belongs to Chelsea and there's every chance he'll want to stay at Chelsea."

Carrick, who left Spurs in 2006 to join United, has also been mooted as a potential target for Redknapp, but the rumour was dismissed by the Spurs boss, who questioned the 28-year-old's desire to leave Old Trafford to return to White Hart Lane.

"Michael's also a top player," he added.

"I signed him when he was 12. I know all about him as well.

"Will he want to leave Man United? I wouldn't have thought so."

I'd definitely take Joe Cole. I've always liked him as a player and I believe this move would please all parties.

No No No to Carrick -  he seems to have gone backwards at United, and his passing goes sideways. Can't tackle and can't shoot. He can stop at manure!!
