Word out of Canada and Germany has that Stalteri might be on his way back to Germany - Wolfsburg, to be more precise.

So long, pity he wasn't up to the job as I thought he was an honest pro.

Cheers for the West Ham winner though.

Berbatov & Chimbonda to Newcastle
« Reply #121 on: January 20, 2008, 03:38:51 PM »
PURLEEASE Berba is all about wanting silverware not self delusion. But is is from the Mirror so it explains a lot.

KEEGAN TO SIGN NEWCASTLE FAN
Dimitar Berbatov for Newcastle rather than ManYoo? The Sunday Mirror seems to think it could happen in the summer.

The paper reckons that Kevin Keegan 'has an ace up his sleeve' in his plan to lure Berbatov to St James' - 'The £26million-rated Berbatov is a lifelong Toon fan'.

No wonder he looks so depressed all the time.

'The widespread belief is that Berbatov will join Manchester United in the summer,' says the Mirror. 'But, just as he persuaded Alan Shearer to snub Old Trafford and join the Geordies in 1996, Keegan wants to snatch Berbatov out of Fergie's clutches.'

But Chimbonda may go to Spurs' Right Back graveyard.

CHIMBONDA TO BE KEGGY'S FIRST
But according to The People, it is Pascal Chimbonda who will be Keegan's first signing.

'Keegan wants the French star to come into his troubled defence and Chimbonda also has an attacking flair to his game that could make him a Toon hero,' it reports.

Chimbonda has grown unsettled at Tottenham after being played at centre-half and was unimpressed with the club's bid for Rangers' Alan Hutton. Chimbonda's sale would thus provide the North London to make another attempt to lure the Scot south and the People speculates that Hutton 'could be tempted to London if they come back in and offer better wages.'

SPURS IN FOR MIGUEL AND TIAGO
Tottenham is the reoccurring theme in this Sunday's gossip. And so are right-backs.

The Observer claims, 'Tottenham have inquired about Portugal international Miguel in an attempt to fill one of their problematic defensive positions. The Valencia right-back has been made available for transfer after falling foul of new coach Ronald Koeman's disciplinarian regime at the Mestalla.'

According to the newspaper, the club are looking for a new right-back, left-back and centre-half.

It also reckons that they should complete the signing of former Chelski midfielder Tiago this week from Juventus in a £9.7m transfer.

And the we'd end up with three strikers of whom one is mostly injured (Bent). Pekhart and Dixon have not been tested at this level. And who would the club be able to ship in so quickly?

:carlton:

Now that would have been a good. Still could sign him in the summer, perfect replacement for Defoe.

Any one want a laugh

Man City in for £32m Berbatov
Manchester City are lining up an audacious £32m bid for Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov from under the noses of local rivals Manchester United.
Sven Goran Eriksson will be given a £100m war chest to spend on new players in the summer - and Berbatov, already a target for Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool, is at the top of the Manchester City boss's wishlist.

City have dropped off the pace for a UEFA Cup spot and owner Thaksin Shinawatra is determined to make the Eastlands side a force.

Berbatov had been linked with £20m moves to Manchester United and Chelsea in the January transfer window but stayed at Spurs, where he has since won the Carling Cup under Juande Ramos.
why would he go to these pillocks
i can see the attraction of the champions league and him leaving to go to manu or chelski
but do not see him drooling over city
papers like to speculate but the wrinter of this piece
is a :tossa:

C'mon  if Berba is even a little bit interested in moving there because of Petrov and Bojinov, he stupid imo.

if he did end up going there it would all be down to money only.

Same thing happened to Benjani, he didn't want to leave Pompy but he said he couldn't reject the silly money they where offering him

Tottenham defender Younes Kaboul is a £5million summer target for Juventus

I think Kaboul can be good at spurs, his last few cameos have been ok seemed to have brushed out a few silly mistakes. i think if we hold on to him for a while we can get more than we paid for him.... but i don't think a Loan deal would be so bad.
