You say that king, daws are berbatov are  loyal players and i agree but if they were too come on to a pitch midway through a game which can be difficult to get in to the tempo, try a few things that dont quite come off get lots of stick from your own fans, then maybe u will see a different side to their behaviour

u know what its like when ur playing a game u love, its all about the adrenalin pumping. Its not about loyalty or being nice.

i admit he was inconsistent but he is a good squad player and i dont think that people should say about booting him out on that alone. i just wonder if he hadnt done that, whether everyone would be calling for his head....

i dont think so...

it wasn't so  much the "Shirt incident" that got me off at ghaly............but he couldn't complete ONE pass.....he is crap, plain and simple he wouldn't be a good squad player becuz he would complain and moan that "he isn't getting played" we should sell him and be rid of the dead weight

Gardner set for Villa move.

Tottenham defender Anthony Gardner is wanted by Aston Villa.

The centre half could head to the Midlands club next week if Villa boss Martin O'Neill coughs up £3million.

Gardner has struggled to gain regular first-team outings at White Hart Lane when Ledley King and Michael Dawson have been fit. And the arrival from Auxerre of Younes Kaboul in an £8m bid is likely to further restrict those opportunities.

I don't understand why people hate Gardner so much. He is not a bad defender, though I must admit that Dawson, King and Kaboul are probably a couple of steps ahead of him. Gardner would be much better if he played week in week out but I can't see it happening at Spurs. If he decides to leave then I wish him all the best. Oh, by the way, isn't Gardner a boyhood Villa supporter?

What do u mean Gardners rubbish...? He is inconsistent but he has imporved heaps since he joined and got alot better when playing alongside King and Dawson.  I hope he goes to a fellow premiership side so i can cheer him when he comes back.

But for the fans who say he is rubbish confirm to me how little they know about Spurs. You are also probably the same fans who boo ur own throughout the game and when someone plays badly, u want them sold.

He has been a good loyal servant to the club and deserves to keep playing in the premiership. But not at the level we are at. Good Luck to him.

Well said geoff25jeep. I think pretty much any Premiership club would count themselves lucky to have a fourth, arguably fifth choice centreback with Gardner's ability, loyalty and commitment.

I do think he's a bit of a liability at times but I also think that with a regular starting line up he would gain in confidence, consistency and form and improve dramatically. I think he'd do well at a lower-Prem team.

I don't think you can ever really accuse him of not trying, and really the only truly justifiable reason to get on your own player's back is if they're not giving 100%. Or being disloyal I guess.
