Martin Jol slammed Premier League chiefs for forcing Tottenham to play three games in six days.

The Dutchman fears the fixture pile-up could wreck his side’s UEFA Cup chances.

Spurs go to Charlton on Monday, play Blackburn at home on Thursday and Manchester City at White Hart Lane next Sunday.

Boss Jol said: “It gives the teams around us a bit of an advantage but the Premier League say there is nothing they can do.

“Monday’s match is a live TV game and Thursday’s rearranged game has to be squeezed in before the final day.

“I’d have liked the League to be more flexible but they said there was no other solution.”

Spurs are ninth, but just two points behind fifth-placed Bolton among five teams chasing two Euro spots.

Jol added: “I’d like to have played Monday’s game earlier because we’ll have had nine days off by the time we play Charlton.”

3 games in 6 days is ridiculous, but if you want to be successful that's what you get.

But like Jol said I'm sure Mondays game could have been played this weekend.:dunno:

On the positive side we have some injured players like Tainio and Benny back in training, hopefully MJ will have a bit more scope for resting/rotating players through the run in.

I really don't see why the Charlton game had to be tomorrow when  it could have been today or yesterday, guess it's to do with the tv coverage or something. It's gonna be tough but if u think about it we've have a hectic schedule all season really and managed to cope well imo.

This is very ridiculous why move the Charlton game when we could have had it on the weekend. But I do agree that if wanna be successful that is what you have to get.
