      Badger how the hell can you blame Adebayor for Sundays DEBACLE, Strikers can only do their job(That is scoring GOALS) if they are given DECENT SERVICE and unfortunately on Sunday our MIDFIELD failed to DELIVER. Adebayor, to his credit, never STOPS, working, running and trying to give his team-mates opportunities. I would suggest you look at our CENTRAL DEFENDERS, because therein lies the problem, before you start to level the blame on Adebayor. This is of course is only "My Considered Opinion". 

I was just about to post a similar reply. Sure, Adebayor didn't score and escaped a penalty for his handball, but you cannot blame him for not fighting for the team. He has been slacked in the past for not caring, but at the moment it seems he's one of the most caring ones in our team. The striker is only as good as the midfield behind him.

Voice I admire your loyalty but if you think the players we have will make the top 4 I am afraid you are in for a let down.
The squad we have are nothing more than average and yes we will win a few games but against the top quality teams our chances are remote.
I really hope I am wrong and you are right we will see how we fare Saturday!!!

It isn't a case of loyalty but looking at the other teams around us. Nobody is outstanding, nobody can guarantee a top 4 place (apart from, probably, Chelsea & City).  That means there are two other places to be filled. This weekend we have got Ars*nal.

You can't blame Adebayor as the service to him has been worse than poor.
However in my opinion he is not good enough to take us forward.
When he turns up he looks dangerous trouble is that's probably 1 in 10 games
There is no doubt the club needed to bring in a new striker problem is why would a top striker come to Spurs?
Only for money and Spurs won't pay hence we have what we've got!!!

Does anyone agree that we need to spend some MONEY!!! But we need to spend it on some top quality strikers. I cannot believe that the decision makers think we can do anything with Adebayor, Soldado and Kane as our strike force. Like everyone else I am really sick of watching us play crab football. Spurs fans would rather see us lose 4-3 and go down fighting than watch the boring crap we play these days. Our great teams of the past knew how to play breakaway football. Now all we get is five minutes of buggering about and then turnover possession. Lewis and Levy think they can get results at the top level without spending. (if you add up what we spent last two seasons versus what we sold you'll see we actually took money, not a penny spent net). I say Lewis out, Levy out and lets have some owners who don't expect top drawer results for no money. And please please please can we get rid of that useless lump Adebayor!!

It is better to be optimistic than pessimistic. Being negative then the season is over. Remember Pochettino didn't get it right in his first season at Southampton. The season that he did do well Spurs snapped him up. It takes time. Even the great Bill Nick didn't get it right in his first season. He had to build a great team. Alex Ferguson was a game away from getting the sack and then being branded a massive failure.  Aren't we expecting too much, too soon? As we stand now we are 9th. Below City, Chelsea and Ars*nal, but above United, Everton and Liverpool. We are six points behind Chelsea (the leaders), two points behind Ars*nal and one behind City. None of those names I've mentioned had a good weekend (apart from Ars*nal). There is plenty to be optimistic about at the moment.

We definitely can't blame Ade for what has gone wrong. The build up a set up play was awful. I believe that in the right team with better tactics, Ade would do well for us, as would Soldado. However, we do need a striker and I would like him to be better than Ade, as although he is a good player, and a great one at times, we need something different, we need someone who can score for fun from anywhere.

But yes we do need to get rid of Levy and possibly Lewis, but I am a little wary about new owners, maybe with a better decision maker Lewis would be okay.

The last time Ars*nal failed to get a top 4 spot was when Tony Blair became Prime Minister, so I think only a fool would say they will not do so again. the final 4th spot will be fought between Liverpool and Man Utd. We will see just how bad things are against Ars*nal. Losing by only a single goal may be the closest thing we can get to feeling optimistic on the rest of our season.

Otherwise we are seriously missing a player who can give an injection of pace, penetrative and quality passing and intelligent foresight, to make any impact on sides that are either parking the bus like WBA, or running rings round us like Liverpool. However, I would also like to see those players given a chance in the League. I think that for the League Cup game today Pochettino should play the same 11 as Sunday and then put the Europa players in against Ars*nal.

Exactly. Never mind last nights C 1 Cup result. Ars*nal will not give up their top 4 spot easily, and another reality check awaits us on Saturday I'm afraid.

I think you are partly right. You need a combination of both teams (Thursday & Sunday) for the league. I also hope that Spurs buy a striker in the next transfer window.

I think you are partly right. You need a combination of both teams (Thursday & Sunday) for the league. I also hope that Spurs buy a striker in the next transfer window.

It is a shame that Soldado hasn't shown his potential and has not become the player we hoped for. We had been calling for a top striker for many years and I thought we had finally got our man. I am not writing him off yet, but we definitely need something different up there. If we are going to insist on playing with one up front then a poacher is not the player we need, we need the Drogba / Ibrahimovic kind. Personally I would rather see us play with two or even three up front and have a combination of styles. Playing one way (i.e. very slowly and with no quality crosses to a lonesome fifure surrounded by 3 other players) is not going to work IMHO.

Interesting to see the mix of views on Adebayor. I am amazed that so many of you rate him. I would put him on a par with the great Emile Heskey. Not sure who spent more time falling over out of the two but how can you guys want to see Adebayor carry on up front? The guy doesn't score!!!!!!

Because, there are those of us who think that the reason he does not score is because of the way the whole team attack, the poor crosses into the box, the non-existent quality balls forward from the central areas, the lack of support when he does receive the ball, the slow pace of the counter attack, the fact that although he has nothing to work with he is actually trying harder than most on the pitch, the fact that last year he scored 11 goals and had 4 assists in 25 games, in 2011/12 he scored 17 goals and had 11 assists in 33 games (2012.13 not so good) but then Soldado only scored 6 in 28, therefore he is more effective than Soldado at the moment. No one is saying to not buy another striker, we are just not blaming Ade for our current problems!
