The last game of the season

So we are approaching the last game of a season full of turmoil, uncertainty and some pretty poor displays.

After we have lost to Aston Villa and been leaped frogged by the worst Man Utd side in recent memory, our season will end in the most fitting tribute possible for an awful year. Even if that doesn't happen and we escape with 6th place, the reality of our lack of development, progression and the amount we have moved backwards will really start to kick in properly (you may think it has already but I believe it will get worse before it gets better)

We do not need to discuss the failings of the team, the squad, the manager (s) or Levy. These have been given lots of thoughts and forum space. In many ways it is not worth discussing the players we would like to arrive, or the manager, or whether Levy will change his ways. All of these are interesting for us, but hold no value or make any difference to what will become of our beloved team.

However, should we just sit here, moan, but do nothing? How can we play our part in helping us return to where we were only 2 years ago? Are the supporters ready to make their feelings known to the board or are we still going to give them more time to make this right?

The thing that I would like to change first and to me is the most important thing at all, is to have a more honest and open dialogue between the board and the fans. They have been silent for too long and only say things which are designed as a corporate and manipulated press release, they are not made accountable and they need to be.

               You have obviously given a lot of time and thought to your post and I for one applaud you, what you have so eloquently written is so true and I think every TRUE SPURS SUPPORTER feels exactly the same way , I, and I hope every one of us can only hope that the so called "People that RUN  the club that we all so passionately support think the same, but alas I doubt it , maybe I will be pleasantly surprised , I can like you only HOPE

There are two things i`d like to change .
 
1.Levy to step down
2.Whoever takes over to put in place a long term strategy and appoint frank de boer.
 
Only by getting rid of levy and appointing a young , competent manager with an eye on the future and the balls to see his vision through will we get anywhere .

Lots published today including quotes from TS about his future and what players have said to him and how they view the club.

TS has referred to himself as a supply teacher who is given no respect nor listened too.   I was thinking and predicted a 3-1 win today before a read this info now I see us getting a draw as I cant see how TS will be motivated and as such how he will motivate the team especially with many players with eyes on the world cup, apart from Sandro who has been left out by Brazil.

There is no escaping we are in turmoil.

I am a true Spurs supporter and this will never change for as long as I draw breath!, however I have aird my views many times this season and have now given up for this season, I intend to hover in the shadows to see just how the summer pans out, who will be at the reins and how we will do next season!.
I am going to see if what I have said before comes true and then I will comment!.

Blackjack, I amongst others here enjoy reading your refreshing and insightful posts please don't be too much of a shadow share your thoughts and views keep our help keep our forum lively!

So we managed to end the season with a win and a comfortable one at that. Overall, I am pleased that we have made it into the Europa, we should definitely go full throttle to try and win it. Maybe play some of the youngsters and new players in the early stages.

I will now sign off from talking about Spurs, until we actually hear some official news, not just rumours. Once this happens I will come back and respond to what has developed.

However, I will now put on my England Cap (reluctantly mind you) and look forward to the world cup experience. I think I will opt to choose another side to support and get behind (unless they play England of course) as it will give me something to cheer, rather than to hang my head or shake it from  left to right in disbelief. I have done enough of that with Spurs this season.

You could argue that we achieved one of our objectives; Europe. Maybe not the one we wanted, but Europe never the less.

Thank God that's over. Now I can go back to being optimistic about the future.

Well for the first time ever in the prem, we finished above Man Utd, which is about the only positive thing I can think of.

For the first time in 60 years, we do not have 1 player in the England World Cup squad, a reminder of how far we have fallen, as at the last World Cup we had 5 ( a record)

TS at least has the guts to speak out and say what we all know. We sold a World class player, replaced him with 7 new players, none of whom had ever played in the prem, and expected to finish top 4 and challenge for the league. He said it was never gonna happen, and he was right. We need many changes, as a few have said.

Levy to be as honest with us as TS has would be a good starting place. Instead of that, he will take the usual easy way out that chairmen do, and sack the manager, which will probably achieve nothing.

Finally the media are starting to ask some of the questions we have been asking for a while. Some of the wording used mirrors what I said at the start of this thread, or can be found across this forum.

- spotlight must now be on levy
- levy remains untouched
- only heard through the medium of press releases
- flaw in his argument...Harry Redknapp
- to lose so many smacks of very poor decision making
- made accountable to the supporters and those who hold the power

etc. etc.

I would like to see a reporter able to directly ask Levy some of these tough questions, we have been waiting too long for the answers.
