Tainio might have broken his ankle
« on: April 21, 2007, 07:36:59 PM »
According to a Finnish newspaper Teemu Tainio broke his ankle in a match against Ars*nal and his season seems to be over. For those of you who cannot understand Finnish... "There seems to be a crack and it means I couldn't play for about six weeks, I'm going to have a scan at the beginning of the next week, then we'll know more."

Bad news.

He isn't spectacular, but we always play better when he plays, does so much good stuff for the team.  But so unlucky with injuries.

He puts himself about a bit and gets stuck in, the sort of player we need at this stage of the season

Well, from this article it comes out that he was taken off because of the injury. I didn't watch the game either. And seriously, I'm not bulls**ting, Tainio is Finnish and Finnish sports editors always speak with him after the game. If it is as bad as he thinks, then it's a big blow because he's such a versatile member of the squad.

Blow to the team as we have no real midfiel cover except Murphy who has been out for ages. Huddlestone has only just returned and Teemu is versatile.

It will be a big blow as i think Tainio is a real fighter in the team and gives 120% every match. Hes so unlucky with injuries though and its a shame because hes quality.

I huge blow, as he probably is out most competitive player. He never seems to be able to finish games. So unlucky with injuries

Great. All we need. One of the few players that plays with fire.

Could be out for a while aswell. Ashton only broke his ankle and he's been out the whole season.

Bad news. Tainio was excellent until he was injured. He brings alot of passion to the team and was breaking everything up earlier.

He is very injury prone which is where the problem lyes

Tbh i didnt really rate him this season but have started to realise he is essential to us, i thought he was great yesterday against the scum till he came off, he was running everywhere and throwing himself at everything, he goves 100% commitment and passion every time he plays.

He's been inconsistent of late but still a vital player as he can play in so many positions. That's all we need at the end of a season where we've gotta notch up some points.
