Sorry for no pre-match topic, was working the night shift again last night. Went to bed for a few hours and went straight to the game.

Just on the train home now.  :spurs: :sleep:

I have no idea what a DDOS attack is but it sounds a bit like a girl with large breasts attacking us? Is there any video of the attack as i would like to watch that one day?

Well, we didn't play very well, did we. But, three points is three points, even though a draw would have been the fair result and the penalty was harsh. I guess referees are making up for all the penalties we've not been given before. To be honest, none of the players really shone, maybe Townsend was a bit better than others. And Sandro's performance?! Oh boy... Anyway, let's see how we'll do against Hull City on Wednesday.

A trivia question: When was the last time Spurs played the same opponent twice in succession? (Sadly, I don't know the answer.)

I'm ecstatic with the result...we have been watching United, for years, win EPL titles on the back of performances/results like that  ;)
Honestly, for me, the important thing is that teams like this are almost predetermined to snuff the life out of games, but previously, once we started getting recognised as serious, we have lost and drew plenty of these - at least we won.
And there are still a lot of things to click into place and a lot if gears to move up through.
As for the penalty, yeah, it was harsh (and, yeah, maybies its a bit of karma for all the lousy decisions we have suffered from), but, I have seen plenty upon plenty upon plenty of them given, and that type is always the type where if you are the penalised club you feel hard done by, but if you are the would-be receiving club, if it isn't given, you feel a little aggrieved. Partially because you have seen plenty given and partially because it is so hard to call. To me it looked like he was trying to get his hand out of the way - hence the feeling of good fortune (or, bad, from Hull's part). But by the same token, that means his arm was in a liable position in the first place and not impeded in any way from not being there. How many times, now, do we see defenders jumping into challenges like that with both hands behind their back just so that this type of situation doesn't occur? Either way, we need clarity and consistency for these situations - otherwise someone is always going to feel aggrieved.

As for the trivia question - I'm sure it was fairly recently, just can't think.

I misunderstood - I thought playing a team in the league and then immediately after in a cup game was what was meant - I'm sure this happened relatively recently.

Good one. But, I was actually thinking domestic opponents and competitions. Sorry for not clearing that up.

Have actually seen a few supporters getting on the back of AVB on a number of forums due to the football not being good to watch.

WTF we have our best ever start to the EPL season, grinding out a full 3 points when in the past playing pretty football would have got us a draw or a defeat.

Are we the only club with utter donuts for supporters whereby nothing is ever good enough??
THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

I read that Villas-Boas was very critical with Spurs fans and said the last nights game felt like an away game. Anyway, I think people who accuse him of boring football have short memories and are the finest examples why Spurs fans are considered to be fickle and arrogant.

       Whilst it was good that we did get 3 pts and kept our good start going, I have to say that it wasn't exactly an entertaining brand that we were playing, especially, as prior to the Wet Spam game we were starting to play some really entertaining stuff, I think that this is mainly due to the team changes that AVB is making, which is understandable, due to the amount of games that we have to play.
       I have said before that there are a lot of supporters who, like myself, are used to watching Spurs play really entertaining football, albeit without a lot of success, so I think it might take a little time for supporters to appreciate what AVB is trying to achieve. I have been critical of AVB, but I am starting to warm to him and his methods. We do have to be patient with him, and by the same token so does he with us.

With Hull’s only intention of defending – using a 5 man defence – the score wasn’t that really surprising, or that the match wasn’t that fantastic. But we won. So now we are 4th in the league with the second best defence (behind Southampton). In our next match against Hull they won’t be just lying back and defending as there can only be one winner. At the moment everything is positive. And of course we are growing closer together as a team.

As for his comments about the fans don't being vocal. That wasn't really true. Where I was sitting in the south stand we were pretty vocal. I can only presume that where AVB was sitting it was like a morgue.
I’ve lived a life that’s full. I’ve travelled each and every highway;
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets, I’ve had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

AVB's statement was very bold and could put him on very dodgy ground with many of our fickle supporters, so I hope he had thick skin to deal with it and TBH will be good experience for him!

Those who get on his case have to remember that AVB is here to do a job, get THFC as many points and as high in the league as possible.  I am sick of playing attractive football in the past and finishing 7th or 8th where is the bragging rights or satisfaction there??  Wow we played some great football but lost by 2 goals WTF would anyone really be happy with that?

So far mission accomplished this season and long may it continue, get behind AVB and the team not on their backs!

THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!
