Paulinho
« on: June 23, 2013, 10:31:12 AM »
I know nothing has been signed yet be fingers crossed aye
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23019246

Also could there possibly have been a change in our transfer policy? A bid for a player excepted this early on in the transfer window? who would of believed that?

I hope Sandro has been on the phone telling him what a great side spurs are :)
Also I would think that with the manager and the player speaking the same language would help things.

I know Brazilians have not always done well  in the EPL, but I do think our style of play does suit them.
Possibly 4-3-3 with Sandro , Dembelle and Paulinho , which would free up Bale to focus more on an attacking role (I'm being positive and hoping Bale will stay :p )
sounds decent on paper to me

Looks a strong midfield 3 to me. My only concerns are, we usually have good width, but it may be time to move away from that. Also if we have 3 up top, then will Bale play on the left or will we go for a very mobile lot. Who can play across the front? Which will mean buying 2 more players at least.

Also would Lennon be out of the picture?

Big decisions to be made. Better get it right!

Welcome Frank. I agree with what you are saying, I just hope that if we do change from our traditional set up with wide players we keep our attacking style of play. Would not like to see Lennon go as he has been good for us over the years, although he hasn't fulfilled his promise in my opinion. Also will this mean Parker and Huddlestone will be gone or will they stay as squad players?
Maybe next year...

If he signs then it is brilliant news. He won't discuss anything until after the cup final. Also; Real Madrid want him. But it seems we are going in early for players instead of waiting for the last minute. Let us hope it is things to come.

I would be pleased to have what would seem a quality signing made early in the transfer window and before pre-season starts, with this in mind I would also like to see a decent striker signed up early and Ade shipped off our books as to expensive to have on the bench.

Parkers time with us IMO based on his dip in ability last season is over however there is still a squad role for THUDD IMO
THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

I also go along with that. At the moment we've got a lot of speculation but nothing solid.

I would keep Parker rather than Huddlestone. I think Parker professionalism and how he conducts himself will stil rub off on to the younger players. I think players like Giggs , Scholes , Gerrard  to name but a few has shown what the old senior players can offer. I put parker in sane mould and when fit is still a good player

A great signing if it happens. I'm not sure that Parker has ever been as good as Giggs Scholes & Stevie G.

Nothing to do with Paulinho, but some people are being really unfair on Parker. He was our best player in 2011/2012, suffered a very serious injury and did not have the best of (half) seasons and already people want him out. And to think people consider Spurs supporters to be fickle...  :(

Nothing against Parker he was great in the first season we had him. But with a fit Sandro the probable arrival of Paulinho, Dembele and Holtby all vying for starting places in our central midfield it's hard to see where he will get a game. Better for him to move on as he's still got something to offer.

As our midfield is filling up with options I think Parkers best is behind him, we cant keep a player because he did well for us once!  Thank you for your service time to move on!

One of the criticisms against Parker (not from me) is that at his age Spurs are concerned about his injuries. I also agree that with other fitter players coming back he might find himself on the subs bench.

I think that if we do get him, which is looking more and more positive, then we will have as good a midfield as any of the top 4 sides.

At last, Levy seems to be taking notice of the manager, and bringing in some quality early in the window ( its not actually even open yet)

Now, 2 strikers and a left back and we really can go places IMO.

Highly rated player, just 24 and his style of play will suit us.  Great addition to the club. I hop he will sign before the Spurs v Espanyol match. I would love to see  what he can do before the real stuff begins!

I'm not saying Parker should start, but behind the scenes I think his professionalism rubs of on the others.
So we should keep him as a squad player as the season is long and Injuries will happen.
