A message to Mr.Levy
« on: June 12, 2013, 09:03:55 AM »
        Dear Mr Levy,
I am somewhat perturbed by what would seem to be a threat to the stability of our playing staff, in fact there would appear to be 2 threats, allow me to explain.
Firstly, it would appear that Real Madrid are about to make an offer of somewhere in the region of 86 million pounds for the services of one Gareth Bale.

Secondly, it would also appear that Paris St Germain are going to try and tempt Mr Andre Villas-Boas to join them as their Coach.

May I offer you some advice, in my humble opinion , unless you offer Mr Bale a substantial increase in wages and invest in some much needed additions to our very thin squad, there is every chance that he will be tempted to join Real Madrid, also should you fail to purchase those much needed players, then, I would suggest there is every chance that you will also lose AVB to PSG. Whilst I am not a big fan of Mr Villas-Boas, I have to concede that he did a reasonable job with the players that he had at his disposal last season, this was largely due to your failure in the Jan transfer window, now unless you want to lose our prized assett Mr Bale and our Coach AVB, I would strongly suggest that you make some very serious signings, very quickly, and also tell Real Madrid to BACK-OFF along with PSG.
I look forward to seeing you endeavouring to put a halt to both of these threats very quickly, as I am sure do all of my fellow Tottenham Supporters.

            Regards,
             Mr Paul Finch

I think that is very well put and echoes the feelings of most of us.

I would be gutted to see either Bale or AVB go, if we keep them and make those vital signings next season will be very interesting and of course expectation high.

If we fail to keep either or both we are setting ourselves up for failure next season before it even starts.

THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

It is worry, unfortunately when any player or manager does well you will get hundreds of news reports about other possibilities.

Even if we offered both the earth it won't stop speculation and offers. Personally I would be surprised if both left the club.

Cant see AVB leaving now we have just gone and got Baldini at his request. That would seem ungracious to say the least. As for Bale he doesnt seem the type to throw his toys out of the pram and demand a move. I think it will come down to how greedy his agent is. Also isn't there a rule about tapping up players ? I'm sure there is, so what the f**k is the chairman of Real Madrid spouting of about how players like Bale are an investment and he would pay £85 million etc. Thats taking tapping up to a new level but as its Madrid you can bet nothing will be done about it.

Agreed. Don't think that AVB will leave. As for Bale I hope you are right, I think he will stay for one more season at least...unless Levy & co decide to cash in.
Maybe next year...

I posted something similar last year regarding the advances being made by Real Madrid to Luka Modric over a period of 2 yrs and the fact that one Michele Platini allowed it to happen, why is something not done about it, here we are 1 year later and guess what they are tapping up another of our players, if the roles were reversed Real and Platini would both be  having something to say about it. That is what really PISSES me off.

It's Real Madrid. Does it surprise you? To me it's about as surprising as the fact that the Sun rises from the east or that most politicians are corrupt.

If levy lets either of these happen then it will show the extent of his ambition and just how seriouse he is about the club . For me if he sells bale i`m finished with spurs and with football .
If your not spurs you`re dead to me

This would be the biggest kick in the teeth to all Spurs fans and would no doubt set the club back years in terms of progress! I strongly believe that Levy is more ambitious than some of us give him credit for and for that reason, not only both Bale & AVB will remain at the club, but he will add new players.

I have to agree with your post 100% except I cannot understand why you are still not sure about AVB ? After all, why would a club like PSG with all their money and ambition be trying to poach him if he was no good ?
Considering he was in all probability hired with the assurances that he would be able to bring in the players he needed, I think he did extremely well to get 72 points with an unsettled back 4, half a midfield and 1 winger who he converted into a striker.

That is exactly my point Riff, Real Madrid and Barcelona have both been guilty of making somewhat very dodgy approaches to players, and have both got away with it, probably due to the fact that NO CLUB has had the BALLS to make an official complaint, Spurs, Arse---, Man U included,  they are the 3 clubs that spring to mind, and I am sure there must be others. Surely even a blind man can see that these approaches are extremely dodgy, my question is why does Platini not step in and do SOMETHING?

  RSS,
As I have said on quite a few posts I am not, and never have been a big fan of AVB, that is not to say that my opinion will never change, in fact it has softened. I am still to be convinced, maybe given time I will be, that is as far as I will go at present, and unfortunately you will all have to accept the fact that that is my opinion, and one that I am entitled to.
