Season tickets for the new stadium?

In a couple of years Spurs will move to a new 55,000 seater stadium. This is an extra 20,000 seats. How many do you think will be given for new season ticket holder? Spurs have 35,000 Bronze members; I doubt all will want to be season ticket holders. On top of that I've been told that with a new stadium will come higher prices. Any opinions/ information?

There are meant to be about 30,000 on the waiting list. This figure is total rubbish, as everyone who is a bronze member gets put on the list whether they want to be on it or not. In reality the list is about half of that. If you then deduct the people who couldn't afford to buy one anyway, you are probably left with about 10,000. Believe me, anyone who genuinely wants a season ticket for the new stadium (if and when it actually happens) will get one. Just be prepared to pay the earth !!

The recent poll that showed all the premier sides ticket / season ticket prices told it all, Tottenham are way above most sides already apart from Ars*nal.
 
By the time the new stadium opens I think we can expect to be on par or paying even more than Ars*nal to watch average football, its all about money and the bottom line.

Of course; it is now a business and if clubs want to compete at the very top then money must be the priority. At one time football was a working man's sport. Nowadays it is a rich man's sport and if the working classes want to watch football then they've got Sky.

Wasn't it Bradford in the 50s that decided to spend their money on better facilities than buying better players? The club went down and people stopped going. Ask any fan what they want and they will say Europe, top 4 or the title and the FA cup. You will only get that if you've got the money.

I have a season ticket and have had one for years but its a fact that the price you pay does not reflect what you watch week in week out.

Man U and City have billionaire backers so can afford to be a bit more generous. Ars*nal and Spurs need the high prices to compete for the top 4 places. The fans demand we compete at the very highest level; so for that higher prices.

Everton and Newcastle are not really going to go further. Yes, Spurs are not performing as they should do but we at least have the potential and structure to do so. We have spent a lot over the last 10 years but haven’t had the manager to turn our buys into top performances and high places (Harry came the closest). Hopefully AVB will emulate and bypass Harry’s achievements.

I have a season ticket and have had one for years but its a fact that the price you pay does not reflect what you watch week in week out. 

At the moment. As I said above; with the right manager that will change. I am optimistic and with a new ground I can see good things ahead.

I agree. Chelsea made a big mistake sacking him. Their loss our gain.

Again I agree. In the Premiership there are about 6 outstanding clubs (who have the facilities to do well); United, City, Chelsea, Spurs, Ars*nal (but I see them waning) and Liverpool (I also see them fading as well). The other clubs are not in their league.

Whatever you think of Spurs they deserve our backing and optimist support.

  Being optimistic will make no difference to our club at all. In fact I would argue that a more aggressive stance towards the chairman may encourage him to spend. You said in an earlier post that we have spend heavily in the last ten years, whereas our net spend has been relatively little. Under harry it was only an average of £10m a year, and last summer we made £10m. If you think the Arse and Liverpool are waning, your going to be suicidal when they finish above us this season.

That will NEVER happen. As long as I have supported Spurs we have never had anything like a full squad to choose from. As long as we have this tight arsed chairman we never will either. We need to rely on a top class manager to the best with what we have, but what we have is a Portuguese moron !!

I disagree that Levy is tight arsed. Spurs have been one of the top buying clubs; at the same time he's managed to balance the books.

As for "Portuguese moron"? What do you base that on? Chelsea? Chelsea sacked him too quickly. The fruits of his work was winning the European cup.

No interest, desire, drive and there are many more words that would describe the Tottenham team Saturday. Players looking at each other as if they were kids lost on a school outing!!!
 
I am not calling for AVB's head cos lets face it who would we bring in?
 
I accept there are a 3 key players missing and we really need Scott Parker back, as Huddlestone never could cut it and still cant!
 
As I have said so many times only time will tell, but having seen what I have seen to this point I only see yet another false dawn over White Hart Lane.
