I really cannot understand what happened to Bentley and why is he so hated among Spurs fans.

Overrated, very overpriced, arrogant, and ex-Ars*nal. A few of the reasons I guess

But he was named in the 25 man squad so that cuts it down to 24 with no chance of adding anybody else . Which seems a bit daft even bearing in mind we have plenty of midfield players.

OK, thanks for that. I read a week or so ago that he was injured and coming back to Spurs.

Yeah, I also read that he'd done his ankle. False alarm, apparently. But, I agree with you. Bentley was named in our EPL squad and I feel that we still could have use for him. I feel sorry for the lad, obviously he's made some wrong decisions. Is he to blame for the transfer fees? No! I still feel he's a decent back-up and some time ago when he played (when Lennon was injured) he did all right. He's just one of those players Spurs fans have hated from the start, Bent, Crouch are some of the others. But, when you look at their stats and contribution, they've all given us a lot.
