So its been a while since I last posted. after a quick browse it seems the general feeling around the sight is one of pessimism. Ever the optimist I think that if we make a couple of good signings before the window ends (please Levy make them sooooon!!!) we can be on the road to something special under AVB. He seems to be a changed man, quite literally actually with him sporty the tracksuit as opposed to the shirt and tie. We have the players that suit his system better and we dont have the egos that chelski do. Given it was our first competitive game under him against a very good Newcastle side that are incredibly hard to beat at home we did really well. We should have at least got a point from that game. Levy's a smart man and he knows we need to strengthen which we will. After a few easier games we face manure where hopefully the team will have gelled and gotten used to AVB's style of playing. COYS!!!!!!!!!  :coys: :yids: :2up:

Yeap I totally agree with you bud!

I have a feeling that with AVB we do have a good future, we do though need a couple of key signings strikers and a keeper maybe!

Tactically and technically AVB is miles ahead of HR and some pointed out it was AVB that picked the team against Newcastle which is correct, but how many times did HR team selections back fire hugely against us when playing much lesser teams??  AVB is still getting to know players key strengths etc give him a chance and a f**king break yeah!

I am sick of the AVB hate and out campaign, give him a chance as I think we have a manager that can take us places given the support from our chairman!  He has won the players over already which must speak volumes!

THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

I don't think there were any problems with selection or tactics against Newcastle. Walker made bad error with clearance to cost us 1st goal and poor defending by Lennon and VDV gave away a needless penalty. Add the bad luck of Defoe and Bale hitting woodwork we could easily have come away with all 3 points. Roll on next Saturday.

I just hope the Modric sale goes through ASAP. So we can invest the money in a striker or two!

I've been impressed with AVB since his arrival, he is tactically astute and this really showed against a good toon side. I'm sure the results will come!

In AVB we trust!

Yes mate, picking Gallas and Livermore was genius. If you haven't guessed already I was being sarcastic. AVB is a footballing moron and will be out before the end of the season. Watch this space

Only one thing is for certain. As Levy see's the transfer window as an opportunity to  make more money, rather than an opportunity to improve the squad, the only thing I can assure you is that spending will be less than our income.

My prediction is that we will sign Adebayor, either on another years loan or a knock down deal. Either way he is pretty crap !!

I love your optimism, but I can't share it afraid

Levy then will also know what money we make from CL footi as from my annual report i got sent after the CL season (which is now signed by THFC players) our profits were right up mainly due to the stack of wonga from the CL and our amazing run in it!

You say Levy is all about money well he surely can see that without investment we wont get CL again or the dosh from it!

He has a job to do and in previous seasons thrown big money at muppets he is clearly cautious not to do this anymore!

So how much of the CL money did he spend on players ?

Levy has no nterest in Spurs as a football club, only as an investment that will make him even richer. It's about time some Spurs fans wake up and smell the coffee. We will never be a successful club whilst that little weezle is in charge. Like our friends up the road, Spurs only interest is to make money to keep their fat shareholders happy. We are an extremely wealthy club, however our reluctance to sign quality players and take the odd risk disgusts me.  Every year my season ticket goes up at twice the rate of inflation. In turn the club is pushing out it's real supporters and shipping in the prawn sandwich brigade. The atmosphere is dying, and now we have the premierships worst ever manager to take us swiftly back to mid table mediocrity. Non of this matters though, because we will be right at the top of the money making table !!

Very few my friend if the truth be known otherwise we wouldn't have made it to 4th, 5th and 4th again and also made the quarters in the Champs League.
This isn't about Redknapp being tactically inept it's about AVB's team selection and his tactics, why not start with Van der Vaart because one things for sure he isn't an impact sub !!!Playing a high line with your oldest centre back in the side when you have just spent £8 million on a international Centre Back, this is good tactical knowledge and team selection ?
To be fair all I have seen of AVB's tactical knowledge is what I saw when he was at Chelski and ... well we know what happened there, he crouched on the touchline and we all cringed at him.
As I have said in other posts I thought we played reasonably well at times on saturday but we were a shadow of the side that played for the majority of the last season, we need strikers at least 2 and also a younger more mobile keeper if we are going to play this high line high pressure game of AVB's. Please don't misunderstand me as I think that Friedel has been exceptional for us since his arrival but he cannot be the sweeper keeper that is going to needed for the tactical genius's system.

I am still going to keep my opinion of AVB at the moment as I still haven't really seen anything in the way that AVB had us playing on saturday to make me think that he is the new messiah, perhaps after a home game there may be more to be optimistic about...... but please forgive me for not holding my breath !!!

I'll answer my own question. Adebayor is back.

A truly dreadful striker if I have seen one. I would of thought that his performances last year would have deterred Spurs from signing him. Unfortunately it would seem that our beloved chairman is also now our chief scout.
