Very Short Memories
« on: July 18, 2012, 07:08:50 PM »
I see that alot of the senior members of this site have already started an AVB and Levy out campaign.
Whilst I respect your opinions, I have to say that you guys have very short memories.
This time last year AVB had just won his FOURTH TROPHY in his FIRST SEASON as a manager.
Thats right, in one and a half seasons in management he won more trophies than Spurs have managed in a decade and a half FFS.
I know things did'nt work at Chelski but give the guy a chance for Gods sake.
Rant over.

Oh and just one last thing - AVB was photographed talking to Hulk in Portugal on Monday.

These folk need to 'av' a word with themselves.
Mr Redknapp was a decent manager for us (some great memories). He was also deeply flawed, and folk need to remember they support THFC and not HRFC.
Levy is working wonders with our club, even if he also works some genuine brain-farts (relieving Mr Redknapp and appointing AVB wasn't one of them IMHO).
Get behind the manager and team, FFS.

In full agreement. Also, if Levy is the penny pinching mercenary that some people think, and didn't support Harry properly, how come he didn't accept Chelsea's offer of 40 million for Modric last year ? And how come he has given Bale a wage structure smashing new contract when he could probably get 30 + million for him as well ??

First of all, AVB won a pub league, a local pub cup and a European pub cup. Secondly, the hulk's asking price is £38m, so forget it !!

I am offended at being labelled a troll for speaking my mind, just because most supporters are happy to just ride along and accept certain situations at the club dosen't mean they are the right decisions.
Once again let me just state my argument firstly.... I have a very long memory that has supported this great club for 44 years.... secondly I don't have an issue with 'Arry being sacked, I have an issue over the reasons he was sacked that in my opinion are very flawed and extremely dubious.... thirdly I have an issue with the manager we have employed to replace him as I feel in my opinon he is far from a manager that should be given control of our great and historic club.

We have employed several people that are all out to prove themselves rather than a genuine top class manager that the club and all it's fans derserve.... so please do not accuse me of being a troll for speaking my mind as I find it offensive.... I beleive that as you say some of you have very short memories !!!!

P.S. If any of you doubt my loyalty and support just check back over some of my 1000+ posts and you will see.

Nice of you to say so.

I have been a supporter for many many years and am in my 50s. I have had a season ticket for 14 years and make a 120 mile trip to Spurs. I have only missed a few games in 15 years, and have been abroad to see them no less than 8 times. As well as this I have been to almost every prem ground to see them play away and am in the top 1000 loyalty point holders.

Unfortunately people like UGS and myself get branded as trolls because we don't wear rose tinted glasses and have blind faith. It really doesn't matter what AVB did in a foreign league, the fact is that the one chance he has had in the prem, he cocked up worse than any manager I have ever seen. I say what I think and NOT what my heart would like me to think. When Arry joined Spurs I knew he would be a success and stated this on every forum I post on. When Ramos joined the club, I said the same about him as I did about AVB, and got it spot on.

UGS, you and will unfortunately prove all these optimistic head in the cloud supporters wrong, but I hope we don't !!

I really hope that we are wrong Baldbloke but as far as I can see at the moment Levy has employed a load of "I have to prove myself" and "Yes" men to run our great club. In my eyes that is a crime that deserves the most harsh criticism available...WE ARE TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR NOT BLOODY TORQUAY UNITED !!!!!

So given your supposed loyalty to Spurs you still felt the need to post at the start of this thread that you are /were embarrassed to be a Spurs supporter!!!!

I dont know any Spurs supporter that would make that statement, what ever happens you NEVER condem the club you support so your 1000 loyalty points and supposed devotion to the club count for nothing after a statement like that.

I can only recall being embarrassed to be a Spurs fan on one occasion. That was when we sacked Martin Jol seemingly whilst the game was going on. According to legend the fans knew he'd been sacked before he did. It was a shameful way to treat a human being let alone a Manager who had had us within a hairs breadth of the Champions League.
