I seem to be in a minority here but I fully support Dan Levys decision. As much as I liked Harry his lack of tactical awareness and use of the squad cost us our champions league place. The Villa game was a prime example. At 1-0 down he had defoe ready on the side line to come on. We got the penalty and equallised so he sits defoe back on the bench. Villa were hanging on for their lives so with 20 odd minutes still to go he should have put defoe on and really gone for the win. Instead he made no change until a couple of minutes from the end when he put Parker on. Now I love Scotty Parker, but if you're chasing a goal he's hardly the most likely to get it is he.
Kyle Walker could also blame Harry for missing out on Euro 2012. Harry played him with a broken toe. When he got a knock on this toe about 35 minutes into the last game of the season not only did he hobble on til half time, Harry sent him out for the second half and he LIMPED back on to the pitch.
I trust Levy completely and I am sure he will come up with a suitable manager. Personally I would be quite happy to give Martinez a chance at a big club after what he has done with no money at Wigan. At least he has the tactical ability to beat the top sides. Just think what he could do with better players and money to spend.

For me its all about Spurs keeping the players they have and building on that withh equally good players, thats what my heart says.

My head says another period of players coming and going another manager in loads of expectation and a load more false dawns over White Hart Lane, :'( and as someone else posted 10 steps forward 20 backwards

Yes harry did a good job even if , at times i couldn`t understand what the f**k he was playing at !.Some of his substitutions and team selections baffled me .I`m afraid he`s only got himself to blame .Two years on the trot now we`ve flopped badly in the second half of the season .Why  i hear you all ask ? One reason could be that harry had nothing new to tell them .They`d heard it all before. Add to that the fact that he has been touting himself as the next england manager for the last year or so and i think you can see my point . He was offerd a four year deal in february and wouldn`t talk because he thought he was a shoe in for the england job .When that didn`t happen all of a sudden he`s happy at tottenham , got a fantastic job and wants a new contract .Go shove it up your arse harry ! He would have walked in a second if a better job came up (he wouldn`t distance himself from the chelsea job when avb got the sack ) So i say thanks for the memories harry but don`t kid us that you wanted to stay or that you give a s**t what happens to us in the future .

Because the chairman wouldn't back him in the transfer window ...period !!!!

the reason we trailed off was we needed some new blood in the shape of a new striker and a CB both seasons and the chairman wouldn't oblige !!!!

 :o

Yes you are right, and one wonders why that was ? He obviously didn't think Harry was staying long term otherwise why not back him.

As was pointed out, when AVB got the sack he made the wrong noises about being linked to the job, so he was quite capable of dumping us when it suited him.

I think we need to realise that for one reason or another
Harry has gone for better or for worse.
Personally  I feel that he must accept part of the blame for
our slump. If not all of it.
He gets all the praise when we do well but its somebody else s fault
when we collapse ..... I don't think so!
We thumped Newcastle then the down hill slide commenced.
Would also have liked to see suitable additions to the squad in January,
but this didn't happen  but cannot accept this was the reason for our
slump. Our existing squad had got us in third place and 10 points clear!

One thing that seems to have been overshadowed by the departure of Harry,
and missed by me, and probably others, is that Harry isn't the only one to depart.

Also going are

Joe Jordan, Kevin Bond and Clive Allen.

Yes only Tim Sherwood remains.

WTF is going on?

What really bothers me about THFC is that they release no news whatsoever. Like a f**king secret state. f**king USSR. Anyway, I am very sad to see Allen and Jordan depart while I can understand Bond's (Redknapp's right-hand-man) departure. I just cannot understand why Levy is turning us into Chelsea (without quality signings, of course).

Well Clive Allen was the striker coach, so his sacking speaks for itself, as for Joe Jordan & Kevin Bond, what exactly did they do ??

Firstly, Clive Allen was working with reserve and youth teams as well. Kevin Bond was an assistant manager and Joe Jordan something similar. From what I've read I understand that Jordan was responsible for training.

What about Les Ferdinand ? Wasn't he part of it as well ? Oh and I fully agree with the post saying about Spurs being secretive, The last place in the world you ever find out whats happening is the official website. They still have barely a word about Harrys departure. You can however get a credit card or some old shirts.

Sorry mate, what is there to like about Levy, apart from the fact he got Arry in the first place. This is the same man that employed Santini and Jol. Both of these managers single handedly took us to the bottom of the premiership. This is the same man that wants us to play football in East London, and given the nod would take us there tomorrow. Some people think that levy has invested well in the playing squad, where as in actual fact he had given Arry a net average spend of £12m a year. In premiership terms this is next to nothing. If levy had put his hand in his pocket in January Arry wouldn't have been forced to bring in Saha and Nelson on free transfers. I accept that Arry was not tactically brilliant, but don't judge a manager on his mistakes, judge him on his achievements. He took us to 4th twice and fifth once, and the quarter finals of the CL. This was so much better than any other manager we have had for years. Think about who we can realistically get to replace him. Perhaps AVB, the same manager that almost destroyed Chelsea in 6 months. Blank, or should I say Santini mk2. Martinez, who's best achievement is to finish 17th every year. At very best Moyes, who despite never having any money has done OK. To be honest, I think Spurs supporters should  be a lot more realistic and realise that with Levy at the helm, we have done as well as we ever will already, and that was under Arry.
AVB OUT, AND TAKE LEVY WITH YOU

Personally I think Harry had taken us as far as he was capable of. I said back in January given the position we were in at the time, that if we finished below 3rd the season had been a failure. I stand by this. Harry always carries excess baggage with him and his admission on live tv that he would have taken the England job if offered (the day before his contract meeting with Levy) was ill advised to say the least. Martin Jol also managed a 5th place finish with a far inferior squad to the one Harry had. I do agree that Levy wasted a lot of time, money and effort on this Stratford project, when a quick survey of Spurs fans would have shown that most were against this. You say Martinez best achievement was to finish 17th, but look at the resources he had to work with! He would surely play the sort of football that those who go to the matches want to see. Moyes although has also done a good job I don't think would employ the same brand of football. Not convinced about AVB cos I think he could upset a lot of the good spirit at the club.
I do think that Levy does need to get his act together now and get us a new manager so that he has time to buy and sell and players needed before the season is underway.

Daniel Levy is a dictator and will only allow the club to move on if it suits him and is done his way !!!!

Unfortunately 'Arry didn't fit with Dictator Dan's plans and had to go because 'Arry knows football and d**k Dan didn't like it, every time 'Arry got close d**k pulled the carpet out from under him. Think back about the players 'Arry mentioned that he wanted Aguero, Rossi, Benzema etc etc etc the list goes on and on and d**k wouldn't back him !!! I accept that at times 'Arry was limited tactically but that still got us to the Champions League Quarter Final playing some breath taking swashbuckling football, not bad for someone who isn't tactically sound !!!!

While Levy is in charge we will NOT be a regular fixture in the Champions League and neither will we keep managers for very long due to his insistance on medalling in team and transfer affairs. I'm afraid the one person at the club that pulls all the strings is a power mad dictator that has to have everything made to look like he made it happen..... it isn't our club anymore it belongs to Dictator Dan and baldbloke is spot on with everthing he say !!!

If you want further proof look at the what's happening in the transfer market at the moment we are closing in on Sigurdsson and Vertonghan both players the manager wants in his squad..... oh silly me we don't have a manager so who's buying the players and dictating playing style and squad strength?

Time for a reality check here. Until we are in a 50,000+ capacity stadium with the revenue that brings we are not gonna buy any Aguero, Rossi, Benzema ........etc or pay £200,000 a week in wages. We need to build in stages. Unless of course we want to become the next Leeds Utd. Harry also wanted Tevez, Drogba and Annelka.

Who said anything about £200,000 a week wages this was before they had become the major names they are now and they were available !!!

Levy = meddling = constant change = mid table mediocrity
