What Now ?
« on: April 16, 2012, 03:56:53 PM »
So we are still fourth in the League and Champions League qualification will be our priority now..... yeh right the way things have gone in recent weeks I'm willing to bet that we struggle to add  3 points to our points total by the end of the season.

Let's take a long hard look at things in the cold light of day we may just scrape a Europa League place if we are lucky, it looks like 'Arry's off and I guess that most of our so called star players will want out if we don't get Champions league !!!

Firstly 'Arry ..... if the FA come calling he's off, I think that is pretty much a given, but what if they don't our recent league form has been abysmal to say the least. Has 'Arry lost the magic touch at Spurs due to his on off courtship with the England job.... if he dosen't get it do we still want him ..... will he still want to stay? questions that need to be given some long hard thought !!!

Then if we don't get Champions League Van der Vaart, Modric, Adebayor, Bale, Walker and Sandro will all almost certainly want to leave leaving us with a squad that will be lucky to stay top half of the table let alone challenge for anything. Even if 'Arry stayed then I'm pretty sure that at least 2 or 3 will be gone !!!!

I can see us starting next season with

                                  Friedel

Livermore       Kaboul        Dawson         Rose

Lennon          Huddlestone   Parker        Townsend

                         Defoe         Saha

Well now I come to think of it we may even struggle to stay in the top half of the Table !!!!!

Just to sum up then I think you can pretty much say we are.... Going to have to take a huge bite of a s**te Sandwich, Up s**t Creek without a paddle or just plain f**kED !!!!!!!!

Right now we should just wait and see what will happen during the next month or so. We have some vital games to play and as we could lose them all we could also win them all. Same old Spurs... Just keep calm and carry on!

For me, this season it is vital for us to get CL footi in order to keep our key players, attract others including a new manager as Arry decends for the England job so as a club we can move forward.

Without securing this vital CL spot we will lose key players who have ambition, only be able to attract players that may have future potential and not the finished business!  Manger wise who knows!

The most annoying thing with this whole senario is we had it in the bag, a 10 point cushion has been flushed away! how far ahead were we from Newcastle who are now level with us!

I have no idea how teh season will end but I am pretty certain we will be in 5th or 6th, to all those who like to stay optimistic..... doesnt it get really frustrating.... try to be realistic its far less disappointing as far as THFC goes.
THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

Hard to feel positive today. Lets wait and see how we perform in the next game. What has been proved is that despite all the pundits saying what a great bench we have, the truth is we have no strength in depth at all. Our top players are knackered, Harry dare not rest them as we have nobody to come in injuries have taken there toll for sure Dawson, Hudd and Kranjcar could all have done a job if fit.

Until last night I would agree with all of these negative vibes. But surely, if any of you were in the Spurs dressing room today, wouldn't you feel lifted by what happened to Ars*nal ?
Personally I would want to go all out and give 110% and win the last 5 games. Stick it right up the gooners.
They have given us a get out of jail card !!!

Well, that would leave us with Scott Parker and a few others.

Scott Parker, Friedal who else?
Sad thing is those two are amongst the newest squad members.

VDV he plays his socks of for us and I am pretty sure he is committed to THFC! Same as King but Ledders is way past his best now!

I wouldnt be surprised is Man City offer Ade as leverage to get Modric who will definately be off in teh closed season IMO.

To be honest, Modrić of this season is not Modrić of previous seasons. I think his spark is not so bright anymore after all this Chelsea-talk last summer. His head was turned and being professional, he carried on playing for us, but we've all seen employees who simply do their job. We as fans want to see something more from our players.

Maybe the time has come to offload Modric and Bale, while we can still probably get 80 odd million for the two.
The big problem then is who do we re-invest in ?

Most urgent for me is 2 top CB's and a Left Back. A left sided and right sided midfielder, plus 2 strikers. Not easy but unless we make top 4 and completely overhaul our wage structure then I cant see them staying.
