The difference is, if we do end up 5th, I will be gutted and ruing how we had thrown it away. You however, will be gloating and feeling oh so pleased with yourself.
Personally I would rather dream and hope. When those dreams come true, I will have enjoyed the whole experience from start to end, a happiness that I can remember for years to come. When they unfortunately go wrong, I will have a short moment of sadness but reflect on the whole experience with pride but a little sadness, but that will quickly go and I will ready myself for the long journey of hope and happiness next year and the year after that if need be, until the end of my days!
Whereas Baldbloke, you will spend your days in misery and gloom, always waiting for your nightmares to come true and for it (inevitably in your opinion) all to go horribly wrong. When those nightmares do not come true and we succeed in one way or another (3rd or to win a cup, get into Champions league etc) your happiness will be but a fleeting whisper, so short and will never stay long. For soon you shall return to your former state of misery, waiting, expecting the happiness to be snatched from you again and the nightmare to return until the end of your days!
So tell me, who would you rather be?

I prefer to be a pessimist, as a pessimist is an optimist with experience. If things go wrong it is as I expected, if they go right I am pleasantly surprised, either way I win. What you don't understand is that I get equally as much pleasure as you when Spurs do well, but less misery when they don't. It's a bit like betting on your team to lose, you win either way. It all makes perfect to sense to me.
Anyway, I bet you we stuffed against the Scouse tomorrow, and on the off chance I am wrong, I will take an immense amount of pleasure when you rub my nose in it, REALLY !!
