I guess Defoe just isn't the guy he was. It is remeniscent of his attitude just before he was shipped out to Portsmouth don't you think? When he came back, he was absolutely marvellous - no doubt about that. I know he has been out for the middle part of the season with an injury, but he just seems to lack the pace he had before - I may well be wrong of course. Also, maybe he needs a good spoil up front and doesn't suit the 4-4-1-1 system that Harry has tinkered with since VDV's arrival. Its a strange one to unfathom.

Riff show me a quote where I personally have stated that I loved him or even liked him, I have been one that has never rated him and didnt want him back (yes am thankful when he does the biz but thats his job), so please fella dont generalise statements in relation to me its a tad annoying ta!

It's because they will be the "star" at that team. Players like Bent and Defoe want the team built around them and at clubs like Newcastle (where JD may end up) and Aston Villa they will be the main player.

I'm not talking about you, I'm talking generally. And I'm yet to understand how some people can hate some of our players so much (Defoe, Crouch, Keane, Jenas etc). It's weird really...
