Well given the fact that Palacios was clearly not even remotely fit (gave the ball away nearly in our box twice, and had to be subbed just past the half hour mark) for Pienaar, who didn't do much better aside from one neat ball, Yes, I'd say he got it wrong. Gallas was clearly not 100% either, though lord knows the man gives his all every game regardless. I thought we could've played Bassong back there, and Krancjar in midfield instead of Palacios.
To my mind, you knew that Manciti was going to sit back and let us come at them; they play more defensively most of the time regardless, and didn't really need a win here; just didn't want to lose. We needed to come out with more firepower than a central tandem of Palacios and Sandro would provide.
I understand the idea of giving more cover for Danny Rose, but we've not won away from home in the league in the last 12 tries, and this game was do or die for us; we needed to throw the dice and really go for it, not just trot out the same old squad and hope for the best.
