Would Harry walk out at the end of the season?
« on: May 04, 2011, 07:55:33 PM »
I was thinking about a post I made on another thread and this scenario came into my head:-

1. Harry has turned the club around, has got CL qualification and has enjoyed a great run in Europe
2. As a result, Harry is in the frame for the England job
3. BUT we have failed to qualify again and if the club doesn’t return to the Top 4 in 2011/12, the FA may decide he has lost his touch and that 2009/10 was a flash in the pan. Result:- Harry doesn’t get the England job.

SO -
4. Harry walks at the end of this season and goes to his beloved Hammers who have just been relegated to the Championship
5. Harry will undoubtedly be able to recruit quality "relevant to the cause" of immediate promotion and may well get a few "old school" guys to go with him eg Crouch and Krankers who will be assured of a quick return to the top flight with Sullivan and Gold underwriting their salaries.
6. Harry gets the Hammers back up immediately romping the Championship thus displaying his credentials as a "man manager creating success" resulting in him reaffirming himself of the darling of England and ensuring the national job.

Any thoughts?

Redknapp will never go back to West Ham. They hate him as much as I hate cadbell.

Harry is more likely to go to chelsea as a temporary manager before the england job than back to wet spam. Whatever happens Harry will put himself, his career and his own personal agenda first and who can blame him. Its a pity he doesnt disguise his motives a little better though isnt it?. I wonder what harm this atrocious run of recent form is doing to his credentials. Maybe none who knows?

Perhaps if Levy says he's not going to spend money to improve the team, and Redknapp feels he can't take Spurs any further with the players we have. No point in speculating though.

I hope Redknapp stays for at least one more season.

Would be a shame if Levy thinks we have got as far as we can go and refuses to invest further - what kind of message is that? Mind you, its all gone quite on the new stadium front, so maybe he has given up on expansion and the ability to improve the stature of the club. That alone would make Harry walk.

Thats a bit severe Miller - what do you mean mate? I put this up as its an interesting discussion point. Do you mean you would hate him to leave at the end of this season instead of next or the thought of him going to the Hammers is  upsetting?

It is not an interesting discussion point. We already have about 20 threads à la Sack Harry, Kill Harry, f**k Harry, Should Harry go? Will Harry go? Where will Harry go? etc. Try to post all your negativity and gloom and doom in one thread, instead.

Also how has Roy Hodgson's turn around of West Brom's fortunes affected his England prospects. I'm sure the F.A would far sooner have Hodgson who is a bit restrained and..... well, dull, if we are being honest. Than somebody like Harry who has a colourful past and is a bit more likely to rock the boat. I did think Harry was nailed on for the England gig but with the re-emergence of Hodgson and our recent run of poor form my opinion is slowly changing.

Its not really doom and gloom chaps, its a viable discussion point.  Granted not exactly positive but worth a debate either way!

Its impossible to predict what Arry will do, whats for certain is his heart aint in the THFC job but fair enough its a job right!

I think he will stay on and look to establish an attack on the title next season, (we need to keep our key players) and bring in those vital 3 or 4 players just hope the powers at be dont let us down again in teh transfer window trying to be too f**king clever!
THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

Sorry guys, this wasn't meant to be in the style of "lets get rid of Harry" - it was just a discussion as to where Harry may see himself - apologies if anyone was offended - just thought I was contributing thats all
