Under Armour to be the new kit-provider
« on: March 09, 2011, 01:31:26 PM »
According to the club's official site and the BBC, we have signed a sponsorship deal with Under Armour who will provide the kits from 2012-2013 season. To be honest, if any replacement at all, I would have preferred Adidas, Nike or Umbro.

whether it was Adidas, Nike or Umbro, what possible difference would it make ??.... there all gonna be manufactured in China anyway..

50m pounds 5yr deal.... thats all that matters.

I was hoping for Adidas as well. Under Armour makes some quality clothing, but the shoes are hideous. The styling is hit or miss from what I've seen. I'd like to think they'll come up with something nice given that this is a bit of a coup for UA. Truthfully, I'm a Puma fan and I love our current kits. The quality difference between last year's top and this season's is notable.

Well, yeah, that is true. I was thinking design-wise...

Willsy, both last years kit and this year's are both Puma products.... so your statement about intrinsic design quality of the brand is evidently flawed (by your own tastes)..

the usual brands eg. Nike, Adidas, Puma are getting abit 'last year' and rather chavvy.... lets be pioneers

I, for instance, really liked Kappa kits, especially the ones from 2004-2005 season. I still have them all and wear them regularly. Although I understand that these shirts are probably not for those who've had some more pints and pies than they should have.  :P

Dude, seriously? I'm well aware that both were Puma shirts. I own both. There were some issues with the 09-10 shirt especially around the collar. This season they tightened it up. Much more impressed with the construction this year.

Wilson thank you for re-explaining your original point to Gareth.   The rest of us got it first time. :ohyeah:  I was and am a fan of the puma kits  and I have purchased home shirts for 5 of the last 6 seasons. But if the price is right I think levy is correct in getting the most lucrative deal available.  In the end I wouldn't care if we were kitted out by Elton John once the club is going in the right direction both on the pitch and financially.

£40-50 for a shirt that only lasts a season. No thanks.

I have no idea what a DDOS attack is but it sounds a bit like a girl with large breasts attacking us? Is there any video of the attack as i would like to watch that one day?

Here we go again we should of stuck with the adidas shirts they were good quality, I personally have 47 replica shirts (Home, Away, 3rd, and odd goalie) going back to 1989. The Puma kits of the last couple of seasons have been the best for a while, I just hope they are going to be decent quality when I add them to my collection.

Like Big V says if the deals right and us mugs buy them then a deals a deal !!
