This will be a toughy, we don't have a great record up at St James'. Hopefully Carroll will still be injured. We could maybe kidnapp him after the game and shove him onto our team bus  :hide:

Carroll is definitely out for this one.

As DS has pointed out we haven't got a great record against them at St James..think they have beaten us 10 times in our last 17 games, they have also done the 'double' over us a few times....not a great statistic....im pretty confident we can get the 3 points here tho...the big pitch will suit us and our counter-attacking game should be too much for them...as i say, Carroll is out, so they will probably go with Leon Best and Ameobi up front....you would like to think Daws and who ever partners him should have enough to cope with them two...if we can win the midfield battle we win the game.

Question - who scored our goal the last time we beat them at there place in the league?

I have no idea what a DDOS attack is but it sounds a bit like a girl with large breasts attacking us? Is there any video of the attack as i would like to watch that one day?

Seems so long ago i was tempted to guess David Howells  :o

Glad to see Carroll missing but i still have my doubts about us getting a result. Hopefully one of those occations where Spurs surprise us and steal a win.

Has it really been that long? Wow. Everyone on my mother's side of the family lives in Newcastle and my cousins love rubbing it in when they beat us. Hopefully we'll get a good result this time.

We will show that we have turned yet another corner this season and walk away winners from St James Park, we must start with Defoe and either VdV or Pav.

If we use Crouch and our lump it up in teh air and hope method the best we can hope for is nil nil as we wont score and Newcastle would be able to contain us using that tactic.

Anyone expecting Pie to feature?

Steven Pienaar goes straight into the squad for Saturday's trip to Newcastle United.
The midfielder, signed from Everton earlier this week, trained with his new team-mates for the first time today (Friday, January 21) and travels to St James Park.
Harry Redknapp reported that Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Wilson Palacios were doubts for the trip to the north-east.
"Benoit and Wilson both have knee injuries," said Harry on Friday morning. "Wilson is coming out to have a loosener (in training) and we'll wait and see on both of them."
Tom Huddlestone (ankle) and Ledley King (groin) remain sidelined.

Newcastle will again be without Andy Carroll because of a thigh injury while Alan Smith faces another long lay-off after injuring his ankle at Sunderland.
Dan Gosling made his return from a knee injury in that game but the joint has since swelled up and he will miss out.
Spurs manager Harry Redknapp could give a debut to new signing Steven Pienaar.
Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Wilson Palacios are doubtful after they both picked up minor knee injuries in training this week.

Given Tottenham's poor recent record at St James' Park, this weekend's fixture is the sort of match that will put their credentials as title challengers to the test.
Harry Redknapp's son Jamie was part of the Spurs team that last won in the league at Newcastle back in 2004 - in their four visits since then, Tottenham have failed to take even a point.
Newcastle have outscored Tottenham this season and Redknapp senior has been linked with the Magpies' top scorer Andy Carroll, although he will be denied a close-up scouting opportunity on Saturday, as the England striker has a thigh injury.
Not that Carroll's absence seems to have had too much effect on Newcastle, who have won two and drawn one of the three league games he has missed. Furthermore, manager Alan Pardew has also been able to rely on captain Kevin Nolan, who has reached double figures in league goals for the first time in his career.
Pardew appears to have settled in well at Newcastle and for all the misgivings over his appointment, the Magpies are unbeaten in the league in 2011 although last Sunday's draw at Sunderland must have felt like a defeat, thanks to the Black Cats' last-gasp equaliser.
