Showing Character
« on: October 17, 2010, 11:54:51 AM »
recently i'm presently surprised how much character our squad is showing.

Yesterday was the 3rd time this season we have come from behind to win.

Now C'mon, most of you know Spurs of a few season ago, used to struggle when going a goal down and their heads used to drop big time.

Villa, Fulham & Wolves are teams that a few season back if we went a goal down we would have lost too.

there's always been that saying around spurs fans "we always lose to teams we should beat" and This is a massive improvement in my eyes.

Oh very much so and i agree with your points mate.

We now have a grit and dertermination in and around the club that we have never really shown. Its great to see. Im excited when i think were we could go with this group of players who are starting to show that never say die attitude in games.

COME ON YOU SPURS!

It's getting to the point that I dont believe we can win a game until we go a goal down. Thats good management at work instilling belief and a never say die attitude it's what can win you trophies. We seem to have a good team spirit too which is always nice to see.

I must admit even when we go behind now I look at the clock and think plenty of time for us to score, rather than theres enough time for them to get another.

I think that's down to some excellent work by 'Arry and his team creating belief and also the fact that when we had to do it last season we did, rather than stumbling at the final hurdle as we've done so many times before.

It's great actually thinking that no matter what game we are in we have a chance something that I'm not used to in my 40 years supporting the club !!!

I know what you mean. It really is nice to not get that sinking feeling when we go behind by a goal. That used to feel like the start of something awful. Now it's more like "how are we going to respond?"

Yesterday we responded within a minute.   :D

Its a great confidence booster for the team and the supporters.  We seem to be making progress next we need to see that consisnat quality that has evaded us for years, that to me is the last big hurdle but things are certainly looking positive.

Yesterdays result was spot on, good to see Pav score!

With this change in attitude I can see us possibly upsetting a certain Italian team tonight.

I think a major factor of this is down to Harrys management, he has been an absolute revelation to this wonderful club of ours, this group of players is the best i have seen in a long, long time and Harry has built it. We honestly have one of the strongest squads in the league without a doubt and hopefully we will show this fight and determination tonight against Inter Milan. YID ARMY

Spot on Somerset, other teams fans can say what they want about Harry but i love the way he goes about business. I dont always agree with his team selections but then thats football the world over.

Attitude is something Spurs have always lacked in the 30yrs of following them but last season and this, the team spirit, backslapping and generally the way they pull together has been brilliant.

A further great demonstration of character displayed in teh come back against Inter with us only having 10 men on the pitch.

The concern is the play that lead to 4 goals going in during the first half, again showing our great inconsisent ability and after Arry run his chops in the press again

Yet again we show the character, fight and determination in the 2nd half after that (words cannot describe) 1st half, but it took us to go 4 goals down until we started doing something about it! I would have loved to be a fly on the wall in the dressing room at half time, Harry must have tore into them he looked livid!!!

the 1st half flattered them, and the 2nd half hugely flattered Spurs...

this was 1 of those surreal games where in reality even San Marino against Brazil wouldnt be a goal down after less than a minute... then of course the red-card was the killer (even 2-0 down with the pen wudda been not too bad)...

i the 2nd half they hugely took their foot of the gas, and paid a silly price in the 91st and 92nd minute..

blah blah blah...... I support anyone who plays Spurs because I don't support anyone let alone Spurs.
