Riffsy, that is such a lame excuse.... maybe you could apply the same phrase to Hitler or Jack the Ripper..

whatever the ins and outs, I'd be glad if he never played another game in the Prem again.. a good enough CB in his prime (well past now) but also a tad over-rated too..

Gareth since he has been at Tottenham he has been nothing but a saint and scored the winning goal in a Cup Final. He has been unfortunate with injuries to say the least and what's to say that the injurys may have hindered his performances. If and when he returns keep an open mind and let the lad try to prove himself !!

PS... Real Madrid one of your many clubs by the sound of it signed him so he can't be that bad or that over rated eh !!!!

It pains me to say this but. Woodgate was injured for most of the time he was at Madrid and, if I remember rightly, scored an own goal with nearly his first touch on his debut. As soon as he was fit they packed him of to 'boro and it's probably fair to say they wish they hadn't bothered with him. They may well feel the same way about Michael Owen. However you are right when you say they must have seen something in him, it just didn't turn out to well.

violently criminal behaviour that underscores a sinister mindset which includes violent racism and then not only lying about it but bullying/begging a team-mate to perjure himself by lying in a criminal-court for your 100% benefit shouldnt be excused by  'oh, but he's a very good player'....

you can't polish a turd....Good riddance

Gareth, Woodgate's trial was 10 years ago. Here's some reading for you http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/1701493.stm
As you seem to know more than other people in the world (and not just about Woodgate) I think either you're God or delusional.
