Where is our Fan Base?
« on: October 06, 2010, 11:17:43 AM »
All this talk of the possible move to Stratford has got me thinking.
Where do Spurs supporters who go regularly to games actually live?
I would have thought most travel from the north to the ground e.g Herts,Bucks, Essex etc. but I may be wide of the mark.
Obviously the club has a database of members and season ticket holders, would be fascinating to know
where our "active" fan base actually is and how long is an average match day journey time?
Mine is about an hour, M1 - M25- A10.

Would this information sway any future decisions?

the fanbase is at home, watching games illegally on their 'pooters...

the SUPPORTERS however are mainly based in Essex and Herfordshire.... thats where the N.London white working-class  moved to during the last 20yrs, when N.London (and the rest of it) turned into the African-Asian League of Nations... and they mostly support Ars*nal I think..

and before the shouts of 'racist' ring out.... I'm actually just giving an accurate assessment of the local history of N.London..

I'm in High Wycombe so anywhere North or East of London is a pain in the arse ..... takes me about 1.5 hours to get to the games. This would become 1.4999 hours with the new stadium (closer to walk) and god knows how long to the Olympic Stadium if we decided to move there.

On the rare occasions I get to visit The Lane now I come up by train from Kent and there are loads of Spurs fans on the train and milling around at Victoria station. I think we come from far and wide really, when I had a season ticket I used to regularly meet up for a drink with a bunch of lads that came over from Northern Ireland, and you only need to look at the locations of the members on here to see we have a truly international support.
As to wether they will take the location of the fanbase into consideration when choosing our new stadium no dont be silly they only want your money, if you cant get there somebody else can.
