When you have a player like Bale. You do everything in your power to keep him!

Real Madrid etc can offer what they like. I don't see how selling arguably our best player gets us anywhere. Swapping him fo the likes of Benzimaframe is harldy good business when all we can offer him is £70,000 a week which he will reject straight away!

So, no "top" striker is going to come to Tottenham with our current wage structure cap.

We aren't desperate for  the cash from selling Bale and with know one coming the other way who we can call a "top striker" i think we can move on from this rubbish now...

What makes anybody think Bale wants to leave. He seems happy enough, he must be on a decent wage, he's playing for a good team in arguably the best league in the world. He's never said he wants to leave and has only recently signed a new contract. Yet we discuss his leaving as though it is inevitable. I know in this day and age contracts are worthless but Bale may well be a cut above some of the mercenaries we are getting used to seeing come and go. Who knows he may even possess old fashioned values like loyalty, honour and integrity. Lets hope so.

wage-structures can be amended by Levy in a second.... they are naturally anyway to account for the 'going rate' for top players.... as long as we no longer have  'wage-parity' deals with any players then its not a problem..

if you think a 70k a week wage will be enough to consistently keep top players and secure a Top4 finish, then you are in Lalaland....

last night's proceedings are quite ironic... it left us with no points gained and therefore no material benefit to our CL group standing, but had the undesired effect of elevating a 21yr old on 50k a week, up to superstar-standing within European football and all the top-clubs rubbing their hands in readiness for January....

but dont worry, I'm sure Bale will be happy to say no to Real Madrid or Barcelona etc, regular titles and CL competition, not to mention a tripling of his wages...

not to mention Levy turning down 40m when he has Modric, vdVaart, Kranjcar to play LM anyway..

'Arry was interviewed and said Bale's not for sale and he is the kind of player to build a team around ..... Good enough for me !!!!!

Gareth, if we're a club with aspirations of appearing regularly in the Champions League we're going to need more than one left-back. Modric, VDV and Kranjcar can play LM as you said, but they sure as hell can't fill in at left-back.

If we're a club that can change our wage structure in a second for star players, then why can't we keep Bale who already plays for us and is playing fantastically well at LM? Just because we have players who can do the job in that position doesn't mean we need to sale Bale for the money. We're not being sucked dry by debt like other clubs so what would the point be?

It is good to now that the management are not going to sell him but let's just hope that Bale does not pull Berbastard on us. I somehow doubt he would, so far no worries then.

I think either Bale or Modric will be sold soon enough.... if Bale's at LM that only leaves Modric to play CM regularly and to me he just isnt robust enough to be an allround CM in a midfield-4 at a Top4 club...

if we keep Bale and Lennon as 2 wingers with also the very attacking vdV in the team we will NEED to have 2 solid, robust athletic CMs who can defend mainly, allowing the fullbacks to go go forward... I think a 2 from a quintet of THudd, Jenas, Sandro, Palacios and possibly Muntari would fit the bill well...

if Muntari comes, its almost certain that Modric wil be sold.... the system we play simply demands it if a 20m player is gonna be benched mainly..

Modric   <-------->  Muntari + 12m .... in January ??

Modric was certainly robust enough to keep Sneijder quiet. Great dive from Jenas the other night, right Gareth? I thought it was embarrassing. How do you feel about it?

You live in f**king dream land ........ you already posted that you never saw the Inter match you mocked the team selection I posted that was spot on.That team managed to play the reigning European Champions off the pitch with Modric, Huddlestone, Bale and Lennon on the pitch.

Why would any of the players want to leave at the moment we are a team on the up and you keep your best players not sell them, you are a muppett of the highest order Gareth so Piss Off and post somewhere else
