wage-structures can be amended by Levy in a second.... they are naturally anyway to account for the 'going rate' for top players.... as long as we no longer have 'wage-parity' deals with any players then its not a problem..
if you think a 70k a week wage will be enough to consistently keep top players and secure a Top4 finish, then you are in Lalaland....
last night's proceedings are quite ironic... it left us with no points gained and therefore no material benefit to our CL group standing, but had the undesired effect of elevating a 21yr old on 50k a week, up to superstar-standing within European football and all the top-clubs rubbing their hands in readiness for January....
but dont worry, I'm sure Bale will be happy to say no to Real Madrid or Barcelona etc, regular titles and CL competition, not to mention a tripling of his wages...
not to mention Levy turning down 40m when he has Modric, vdVaart, Kranjcar to play LM anyway..
