If however he (Jenas)  isn't picked tomorrow and others start in front of him will you then accept that he isn't actually on of our best CM's and the talentless players that we have in CM might actually be better than him at this moment in his career ?

 :)

Jenas picked against Inter.........

Modric subbed off, Jenas retained against Inter........

you were saying Ugsypoohs ??.... :-[

Spurs have 2 bigger games next lined up against ManUSA and the Champions of Europe last season.... thats why the backup CMs were used.... why do you think Palacios played against Everton too ??...

like I've said for weeks, Jenas will supplant Moderate in the bigger games, and Moderate will be given a runout here and there to maintain his value, when he is sold...

Jenas is BACK...... deal with it  8)

Keown you are basically saying "because Modric was subbed off against Inter - Jenas is our best central midfielder". Does that make any sense whatsoever? You are the only person who thinks the two are related because you have some strange vendetta against Luka Modric.

It was a tactical decision. Nothing more. Faced with the prospect of playing Inter Milan soon to be down 0-2 for over 75' which position do you go without? If you are playing a 4-4-1-1 with our two wingers playing as they do then you have to go without the player behind the forward in order to maintain the shape of the defense. It's that simple! Why would that move speak to any sort of comparison between Modric and Jenas? Why not Modric and Huddlestone - or any other player on the field for that matter? If it was a matter of taking off the "least valuable player" wouldn't Alan Hutton have come off? Your reasoning isn't logical at all. It's just strange - and very predicatable.
He's strained his left adductor muscle it says. Whats that then ? Do we all have those or just footballers ? I wonder how mine are ? *courtesy of taimedowne*

I'd keep Jenas and get rid of Gareth.

Is there a box to indicate this is my choice somewhere?

for those like WJ who are REALLY struggling to understand....

Bale and Lennon, by common consent, are the wide-midfielders of choice.... that, so the 'experts' thought left Modric... sorry... the great Modric as the 'automatic' 1st choice for a CM berth.... leaving the 'useless' Jenas out in the cold as a mere backup....

that was the huge concensus..

the reality, which I suggested weeks ago, was that it would not be Jenas but the great Modric left out in the more important games, as they both compete for 1 of the 2 CM roles (assuming THudd is a regular - which may be true by appearance frequency).... thats when the laughter started... Jenas a regular in place of the great Modric ??  :2funny:

it turns out that when push came to shove in Milan, Jenas was chosen to play a CM role instead of the great Modric..... in a match of huge importance, when presumably Arry would go with the more trusted and 'better' CM... Arry chose Jenas...

Modric will now play occasionally, when others are all fit.... fill in for Bale and Lennon when rested....

Jenas and THudd are the 1st-choice CM..... ahead of Modric, Palacios, Sandro and any other player you care to name...

the great Modric has been left as a stand-in..... nothing more.

WAKE UP BIGGS

You have missed the breaking news.

We have sold Bale for 1.5Billion to Burnley
We have sold Modric for £2.24 to Cash Convertors
And the Spurs franchise is moving to China.

Other than that there isn't much going on.

You didn't speak to my point at all. Just spouted off more of the same weirdness. Why was he given the captain's armband then against Everton if Harry thinks so little of him?

Wilson mate just ignore him because he won't answer an argument especially if he's wrong, your points are valid and he can't give a reasoned response. If we all ignore him maybe he'll go away.

WJ.... I know your a Yank who is noo to this sarkerrrr business, so I'll try and be gentle...

1) the point in the Milan game was that the great Modric (who apparently to the fans can play brilliantly in CM) was subbed, Jenas was retained in CM.... surely if the great Modric is so superior to Jenas even in CM... then surely it would make far more sense to sub Jenas and slot the great Modric into CM.... I bet you still dont get it do you ??....

2) if Modric is not going to feature as a 1st-choice in the big games especially anymore, then it makes perfect sense to 'big him up' as much as possible ie. by making him captain for the day (whoopee doo)... that way the simple masses incl. the Media will not think that he is now surplus and force a drop in his transfer-value (eg. with the 17m at one time Bentley)... also it keeps Modric sweet when he isnt gonna be playing much when everyone is fit: Jenas, THudd, Bale and Lennon...

IMHO I wasnt expecting such a lack of perception from you over this.... I really thought you, one of the few here, would get that after the 1st reading... its sad to see that you didnt, and you seem to be on the same level as Ugsy, Deadlystink and a few others....

Sorry guys but not a lover of JJ.  Passing is so irratic  and i dont think he is a good all rounder.  Last couple of seasons i would have him as a squad player but the previous managers have perservered with him and seen something.  Who ever wears the shirt including JJ will always have my support.......  Mostly  any way  lol
