Sandro set for début against Ars*nal

The Spurs manager has been pleased with the way Sandro has adjusted to his new surroundings, while the youngster also impressed in a training ground game this week.

"He's fine. He's a great lad and he has settled in well. He played well in the game and I will look to get him involved," Redknapp told Sky Sports News.

"Certainly on Tuesday against Ars*nal there is every chance he will play and make his debut.

"We have been pleased with what we have seen so far."

Redknapp insists he would have no worries about throwing Sandro straight into Premier League action after the Carling Cup match.

"We will look at him and assess how he is going but there is no reason why he shouldn't do," said Redknapp.

"He's a good player. He's in the Brazilian national squad, he was away training with them in Barcelona last week so you can't be a bad player if you are getting into the Brazilian squad."

Some foreign players struggle to cope with the physicality of English football when they first arrive but Redknapp says that is one of the best aspects of Sandro's game.

"He's an aggressive, strong player. He gets around the pitch, he's a big lad and a really good competitor so the English game will suit him fine," said the manager.

Will look forward to seeing him play. But is this a sign of the Harry will put the youngsters out against Ars*nal

Harry wouldn't publicly say this about Sandro if he wasn't to feature. I'm sure he will... Be a great game to introduce Sandro to England!

I should think both sides will be playing a team of fringe players. Lets face it we have bigger fish to fry this season. The Carling Cup will be a good run out for Sandro, Keane, Bentley etc. Even our fringe players are a decent side these days which is a measure of how far we have come in the last few years.

I feel this competition is the last on harry's mind and that he wouldnt lose too much sleep if we go  out in the early stages hence fielding a weakened side even against the filthy gooners. Its only if a weakened side progress in this competition will harry suddenly take interest

I agree Biggs, battle of the fringe players but lets face it both teams will have a fair amount of talent on show. It is always good to get one over the goons even if it is just fans playing pub darts so I hope we dont treat it too poorly.

if Kaboul is less than 100% fit, then he may well play Naughton (who I rate as a v.good  prospect) and keep Hutton fresh/fit for the Prem..

THudd could well play next to Bassong, and I wouldnt have a problem with that at all...

you could well be right Biggsy, as Sandra will need the experienced players near him.... if that happens I feel Gio will play RM cutting inside onto his left peg, to allow Hutton to bomb down the right-flank..
