Has Spurs got any World Class Players?

I would love to read comments from other Spurs supporters on AVB.
We have a majority of pro AVB at the moment. It would be good to add a few more

He is not. He is a good player, but a bit too inconsistent. Let's see whether he keeps his place in the team now that Parker is back.

True a good player on his day but not the standard we need for developing and moving forward as a club, i think he has a role within the squad but not starting 11 with better players available.

World class players are those who teams like Real and Barca hunt down and pay 30 mill plus for.

Therefore I would say that Modric and Bale are the only two we have had in the last few years, with maybe Berba for a short while.

A good player or a great player; what is important is that he fits into a successful team. Sometimes a good player can be better than a great player in the right team.

Thats a good point, one that Billy Nick realised early on, getting in the right players ,more often than the wrong ones.

I would certainly add Dembele, this is a player who will become World Class, he is already starting to show those qualities, and he will be sought after by the likes of Barca, also possibly Lloris, he is certainly starting to show that he is a top class keeper.

That what Alf Ramsey did with Ispwich and when he dropped Greaves (World Cup) he wasn't think about his qualities but who would be better to fit into the team. Granted Greaves was injured leading up to the final. But I would rather have a great team of good players and a bad team of great players.

I think one of the problems with the current England team is that, no matter what, we have to have Rooney playing. The manager should have dropped Rooney and let one of the other strikers in.

I agree. He was a very good purchase. It is also interesting that Defoe and Dembele was taken off and then we conceded against Everton.

  It wasn't happening for Defoe, although he is always likely to create something out of nothing, and I think Dembele might have been carrying an injury, he certainly looked to be hobbling a bit. We conceded goals because the defence panicked and started to just hoof the ball out of defence, instead of passing it to a team-mate and trying to retain possession!!!!

I agree with your comments here. I do hope that Dembele can bounce back.

I'd say that without his injurys Ledley could have been world class he had the knowledge and the ability to have played for any of the top teams. We can be sure that had he been fully fit offers would have been made whether he would of accepted them we will never really know.

As you say, we will never know. But I think you are right. He said he was loyal to Spurs. But if push became shove would he have stayed? Don't forget Campbell said the same thing, he also said he would never go to Ars*nal.
