Harry Wants Gio To Stay
« on: July 03, 2010, 02:14:15 PM »
Quote
The Mexico international has struggled to settle in England after signing from Barcelona. Following loan spells at Ipswich Town and Galatasary, his career appeared to be away from White Hart Lane.

Redknapp felt the lure of the nightlife has distracted the 21-year-old from matters on the pitch. But after a promising World Cup, the Tottenham manager insists Dos Santos is still in his plans.

“If he could pass a nightclub as well as he can pass a ball he would be alright.” Redknapp said on Talksport.

“His Mum and Dad came over to see me last year and he apologised because they realised he wasn’t dedicated.

“He’s got bags of ability and fantastic skill. Suddenly, he was late on Monday mornings - upset stomach - he’d probably been in Barcelona partying somewhere.

“He’s had a great World Cup. If he knuckles down this year he could be a top player.

“He’s a nice kid and I hope he keeps his head down and gets on with the job.”

I don't know how true them quotes are. Did anybody hear this on talksport?

IF its true i hope Gio stays  :spurs:

Read this one also, on goal.com really hope its true, I believe it is, really sounds like Harry, Dos Santos should be given a chance on left wing or upfront, problem is we need a player who holds up the ball for Dos Santos to play off, might work well with Crouch but wouldn't be worth it at the cost of Defoe our top scorer, and best striker the first half of the season, and Crouch is not good enough to be a regular starter sorry.

We have the option of playing Defoe and Giovanni together, with Bale and Lennon on the wing, this gives us a real pacey counter attacking threat, that will be vital for CL when we play against better opponents, but for general games we still need to get a target man, who is big, and can hold the ball up, but please don't say Gudjohnsen.

Either way, Gio must play somewhere in the team. I can see him playing on the right wing if lennon or bentley is injured. Or even play behind striker with modders and no wing formation

We should keep him and see what he can do, as long as he keeps his head down and cuts out the nightclubs.

Before the World Cup I didn't think much of him as questions were asked about his professionalism but I have to admit he was one of Mexico's best players and we just might want to find him a place in Spurs team.

Well Gio says he wants to stay, and I for one am delighted. Not just anyone can come through Barcas academy you know. If he nuckles down he can be world class!!!

Gio "can" be world class, but where would we play him?

With him, Modric and Lennon it makes us very slight in midfield where we need height and strength, im not convinced the boy will last at WHL, sadly  :'(
COYS!
