Nani is a talent (even if she is old ) but i don't think we will get him because Man Utd are interested and this is not the same situation as bale. Nani is looking for a big club move and with ronaldo at man utd he will be tempted to go there rather than us

Lol Biggs, i dont know why but i found that funny.

SPURS IN DANGER OF GETTING GOOD
They've signed a decent left back for the first time since...erm...have Spurs ever had a good left back?

They insist they're hanging on to Dimitar Berbatov.

And now they're apparently favourites to sign Portuguese wonder-kid Nani.

'Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and sporting director Damien Commoli will meet with Sporting Lisbon this week to try and beat United to sign 20-year-old Nani.

'The player has been a target for United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who believes he could develop into the next Cristiano Ronaldo.

'But now it is Martin Jol and bigspending Spurs who have stolen a march on United as they look to follow up the £10m signing of Southampton left-back Gareth Bale, 17, with a swoop for Nani and Charlton's £10m-rated striker Darren Bent.'

Sound bloody good to me. I hope she still has the pace she used to have

Lol Biggs.

I think we should take a risk and go for nani, we all know how good pederson and downing are and neither of them are worldclass, just good. There is alot of excitement about this kid nani and i just watched a few vids of him on you tube and he looks good.

Like somebody else said we took a risk on berba and look at him, absolutley world class. Ferguson took the risk on Ronaldo and look at him now.

I just think pederson and downing arent gona get any better and i would prefer to take the risk on Nani.

Nani is right footed!I don't see how this is going to help our left midfield.I think we should go for Gamst.

I dont know enough about nani to rate him but at 20 and with bale behind him, some of the comments on here are valid.

MGP even if he has stopped developing is a class left sided player who would improve that position whilst brining premiership experience and less need to get to speed with the league, perhaps adapt to the club is fair, but thats minor in comparison, it didnt take Chimbonda any time.

1) MGP - best of the 3 as far as I can tell

3) Downing or Nani, you know what your getting with Downing and he's adapted, he would improve us, but will he continue to develop? Is he significantly better or worse than Nani? I cant help thinking the 'next Ronaldo' is an easy tag to give out when the Ronaldo's and Rooneys of the world are exceptionally rare in reality. lets not be fooled by the fact man Utd are interested, after all they do sign duds after all, e.g. Forlan, Veron, Cruyff all of whom could have reasonably been expected to be better than they were.

Additional -I've just been YouTubing Nani, im not getting sucked in by a highlights reel afterall no one ever puts up lowlights to give you balance.

But he does have a very cool goal scoring celebration that makes keano's ols roll over and guns look lame.

The very fact that he has use of a goal scoring celebration at all probably makes him a better bet than Downing. Who despite scoring 2 against Albania I dont think is very prolific and to my mind is a bit to light weight for the Premiership.

Alright. Some Nani news....... Looks like Manutd almost have the deal done and dusted.

Quote

A reunião começou manhã cedo.

Por volta das onze horas, David Gill e Carlos Queiroz deixaram as instalações da unidade hoteleira. Ambos muito bem dispostos, com o treinador português particularmente divertido. Quanto a palavras, nada.

didn't get it? I thought so.....

Man Utd and Sporting Lisbon had a meeting today in Lisbon to discuss Nani, Man Utd were represented by Carlos Queiroz and David Gill, Nani's agent was also there (Jorge Mendes).
At 11am the meeting finished and both of Man Utd men left pretty well humoured but refused to talk about aything. 30 minutes later Nani's agent left after discussing with sportings board.

He hasn't signed the 6 yr deal. So sporting have to let him go or suffer him leaving for free next season.

I don't believe you Robin, how do I know your not posting made up news.

Man Utd swoop for Anderson & Nani
Manchester United have agreed "in principle" deals to sign Anderson from FC Porto and Nani from Sporting Lisbon.
The Premiership champions are set to make 19-year-old Brazilian Anderson and 20-year-old Portuguese winger Nani their first signings of the summer.

"Terms are agreed with both players and an announcement will take place once a medical and other procedures are done," said a statement on United's website.

United are also on the brink of signing Owen Hargreaves from Bayern Munich.

@ Rob

Cewl, I imagine Nani is a bit of mofo  in his decision making as is gonna do some bench warming for Gigsy ... And Gigs ain't leaving Manure for sure in the enxt couple of years (Didn't he just announce Wales Intl retirement in order to focus on Man U duties !?)

Nani is obviously too stupid to realise he needs REGULAR first team football to progress. The added expectations and comparisons with C.Ronaldo won't help him either.

C.Ronaldo managed to become the Man U star he is atm, only because your team sold Beckham and he had guaranteed place every game in order to progress.

P.S. And yes, I am bitterly disappointed but I hope you will see the valid points in my commentary.
