Spurs Midfield

It became evident at the Man U game that our midfield is key to our balance.
All season we have done well with Palacios as part of our midd 4 but my oh my what a shift in balance taking him out has.
Against Chelsea & Ars*nal Modric & Hudd played brilliantly in the middle allowing Bale to come into the wing position.
Harry then shuffled things around againts Man U pulling Palacios back in and pushing Modric onto the left. We lost
The following game Harry (Obviously realising his mistake) reverts to the same Midfield that beat Chelsea & Ars*nal & we win 1-0 against Bolton.
Then teh crucial game Harry keeps the same team & we beat City 1-0.
So, My question is in two parts.
Is Palacios actually a weak link in our midfield? or is it just that Modric & Hudd play better together & the addition of Bale on the left causes the opposing teams more grief?
I think this is a tough one for Harry but looking at our performances of late, a more attacking outlet seems to work for us for better than defensive!!!

Hmmm its a good question and hard to say...
a big thing about the Utd game was momentum, palacios didnt have that because because he missed them 2 massive wins, so i think that played a part in the performance.
Weak link? No i dont this he is personnally. Wilson is probabaly the best Defensive midfilder in the Prem this season.
with the squad we have, i just think there is no sure picks... if your on form you play i think and hudds and modric are on form

With King in the side we have defended brilliantly and don't really need the extra bite that we get from Palacios. However without King we look a bit more vulnerable at the back and Palacios comes in very handy but we lose a bit of creativity in midfield. Therefore maybe the conclusion should be King in Palacios out and vice versa. God who'd be a manager you'd go nuts trying to work out all the permutations from such a good squad lol.

Palacios isn't the weak link, i think you answered your question. Hudd and Modric play so well along side one another.
If we need to play (more) defensivly then we have the option to bring Wilson in for (probably) Hudd, or if one of those to is injured Wilson will play, he is a great defensive midfielder - something we have lacked for years in the middle of the park!

I think if we get a striker in who can play upfront on his own, like Torres and Rooney do, then I can see Harry playing 5 across midfield, especially away at the old big 4. So having Wilson, Luka and Tommy in the centre with Balennon wide.
